Forgot to mention, watch it in production order, so watch the prequel special after the original series. It kinda spoils some elements of how the machines work if you watch it first
It's been a few years since I watched Eva, so I don't even have it listed on my account but I def feel you on the episodic structure. I don't mind episodic shows, but it's much more fitting to shows with a more lighthearted tone and more colorful visuals (which is why I enjoyed Samurai Champloo more than Cowboy Bebop). Luckily, Fafner follows a more continuous plot
Since you enjoyed Zegapain, definitely, but I'm just gonna let you know before you go in that it's fairly derivative of Evangelion at the start, and it's not until the writer change around the second half of the original series that it starts to find its own identity. Imo the sequel material is all vastly better than the original, so if the first season feels meh just power through because Exodus is amazing
Huh I actually never knew there was a difference between the versions for that episode, I'll have to check it out. I've been meaning to watch ADP for a while since it's simultaneously a prequel and a recap from what I've heard, but knowing the only subs available for it are really poor and Google translate-tier has been keeping me away from it
Hm they're both very different shows tbh, so it depends on what you're in the mood for. Gundam 00 is a military drama with a focus on a variety of factions whereas Rinne no Lagrange merges CGDCT/SoL elements with Mecha action. Keep the runtimes in mind as well, both seasons of Rinne no Lagrange are 12 episodes long, while 00 is two 25-episode long seasons and a movie.
