- Don't use the rating system incorrectly. Your opinions are subjective, whereas the rating system you use is objective. Don't rate something a 6 because it was 'average'. It is literally mathematically incorrect. Don't rate something a 10 when it was really good. A 10 implies that there is no fault whatsoever, and it is the absolute best anime can get, forever.
- Rate your show based on how you enjoyed it, not any elitist bullshit critique. Don't rate some slice-of-life beach episode a 3 because 'it didn't propel the plot' or some stupid shit like that. Let's be honest you enjoyed it, it was tolerable. It wasn't created to become a masterpiece, some shows were created to just entertain and get some popularity, and you understood that when going into it.

It's a shame that you feel that way - but I completely disagree, and I'm delighted that the anime continued. Ending at the finale of S1 would have left a myriad of dangling plot threads that never even came close to being addressed or concluded. It's a great checkpoint for Emilia and Subaru's relationship and a good conclusion to that part of the story, but that's all it is and I don't think it's anywhere near perfect as a series conclusion. Just one part of a much larger story, one that will flesh everything out and explain the many things about the story that need to be addressed that S1 hardly touched on.
