~Moshing Dancing the time away at the merry and magnificent cyberspatial masquerade ball that is MAL~
Welcome to the profile of Hayley N. Haydet, non-recovering aniholic, borderline hikikomori otaku, human kaleidoscope, harmlessly eccentric deviant, part-time accidental troll, and militant practicing Orthodox nihilist.[Note: I won't necessarily reject random friend requests, but I would prefer that we take some time to get to know one another first, so take that into consideration, if you please. Thanks :)]
"There are people who read watch too much: the bibliobibuli geloiografiabibuli. I know some who are constantly drunk on books anime, as other men folks are drunk on whiskey or religion. They wander through this most diverting and stimulating of worlds in a haze, seeing nothing and hearing nothing." —H. L. Mencken Miyazaki (edits mine)
"The time you enjoy wasting [on anime] is not wasted time." —Bertrand Russell Ryuuzaki (edits mine)
"LIFE: To be born in imbecility, in the midst of pain and crisis to be the plaything of ignorance, error, need, sickness, wickedness, and passions; to return step by step to imbecility, from the time of lisping to that of doting; to live among knaves and charlatans of all kinds; to die between one man who takes your pulse and another who troubles your head; never to know where you come from, why you come and where you are going! That is what is called the most important gift of our parents and nature. Life." —Denis Diderot
"Life is algid, life is fulgid. Life is what the least of us make the most of us feel the least of us make the most of. Life is a burgeoning, a quickening of the dim primordial urge in the murky wastes of time." —W. V. Quine
"Truth is at the bottom of the abyss; and the abyss is bottomless." —Democritus
"Riajuu bakuhatsu shiro." —Megumi Chihaya
"Childhood itself is a cheat." —Nisargadatta Maharaj
"What individuals do, alone or together, over a moment or a month or a lifetime, is really just the product of the process of blind variation and environmental filtration operating on neural circuits in their heads." —Alex Rosenberg
"History is idle gossip about a happening whose truth is lost the instant it has taken place." —Gore Vidal
"The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time." —Bertrand Russell
"That society who has not the ability, or who is not willing to procure man any one benefit, loses all its rights over him; Nature, when it has rendered his existence completely miserable, has in fact, ordered him to quit it: in dying he does no more than fulfil one of her decrees, as he did when he first drew his breath. To him who is fearless of death, there is no evil without a remedy; for him who refuses to die, there yet exists benefits which attach him to the world; in this case let him rally his powers—let him oppose courage to a destiny that oppresses him—let him call forth those resources with which Nature yet furnishes him; she cannot have totally abandoned him, while she yet leaves him the sensation of pleasure; the hopes of seeing a period to his pains." —Baron d’Holbach
It seems that you have become an anime and gaming savant. For me, I haven’t watched anime or played games, of course digital games, for some time now. ^^
First and foremost, I would like to congratulate you for mastering Japanese. Your perpetual efforts have finally fructified. As for me, I’ve only been able to marinate the concepts of Hiragana and Katakana. The possibility of mastering Kanji, at this moment, seems bleak. I’ve been busy with other stuff, so hardly get any time to learn Japanese. But I’ll try to do so in the near future, I hope.
An essay on Otaku culture? May I ask you the title of your supposedly magna opus and how long is it? I hope that it is also translated into English so that I can understand it. For sure it must’ve been an enriching process as Anne Frank said and I quote, "I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn." I also like writing. I write poems rather than prose. And don’t ask me to share as I’ll be way too embarrassed.
Things on my end? Well, if you’ll look as a third person, my life would seem uneventful and monotonic but actually, as a first person, I know that it is nothing like that. With the ingredients of hecticness, sublimity and spiritual elevation, the farrago of a meaningful life is prepared. I have been studying different disciplines, along with the ones I have pursued academically and they have broadened the horizons of my intellect. Whenever I study, it’s like an intellectual gymansticism. Apart form studying the disciplines, I have undertook a spiritual journey. After spending plethora of time in Western Philosophy, I have been studying different schools of thoughts of Indian Philosophy and I am hewed to the Advaita Vedanta, which in west is known as Non-Dual School. I undertook training in Non-Dual school. One of its profound idea I have written in my profile if you have noticed. I would love to expound over it but I’ll rest my pen here. :)
If it’s okay with you, I would like to know whether you are active on Discord or not?
An interesting inner life? That somehow has incited my curiosity. Do share the story if it’s okay with you.
Thanks for asking. I am doing very good and I could also say that I am leading, rather than interesting, an exciting inner life. ^^
To be honest, I've not had much time for philosophy since I graduated university. Wittgenstein is perhaps the one who intrigued me the most and whose texts I would most often read in my free time.
As for the title of my game, I'm reluctant to share it directly on here for a number of reasons. But there is enough information on my profile that it is possible to find it.
