My quarantine has been uhhh, depressing to say the least, but it aint too bad, going to get a job soon so im not glued to the house, and things are slowly opening up here in the province of my country, so im looking forward to what becomes available. I'm in college right now as well but since everything is probably going to be online, i got no clue how long im going to be here, so we'll seeeee.... how bout you? is quarantine treating you okay?
Yeah thats fair, i thought most of them were decent, my problems with them mainly stem from the fact that they all feel like pity fests to an extent. At first I could empathize with them, but at a certain point I felt I just heard of a lot of whining delivered in a complex trippy way without any real direction or resolution. There's a lot of people that praise the ever living shit out of it for it being some masterpiece, and I think people do cause it was one of the first animes to really dive into deep psychological aspects of its characters while being relatable and complex in its own way. It's a mecha anime, but people see it a lot more then that. I can see where they're coming from, but the show just made me scratch my head at a certain point. might rewatch it one of these days to clarify how i feel about it.
Oh hes a darling. If you're wanting to get into him I would say give Flower Boy a try, most fans say it's his best work, though IGOR recently came out and I personally think its better, that's just me. He's always been a goofball, and his music, I can honestly it's best described as "Alternative Rap". IGOR is more synth r&b.
I saw that you gave Neon a 4, why the low score? Oh and my bad for not replying for like a month lol, im terrible when it comes to replying and such.
Well everyone has their niche, ero-guro tends to be one of the lesser appreciated ones. I guess my enjoyment would come from the idea of pushing the boundaries of what is is acceptable in terms of censorship... sometimes its just fucked up and messes with even my loose moral sensibilities, but at the very least I always find myself appreciating that people are willing and able to go there... like at least there's an option. I hold onto that sentiment when dealing with a lot of Suehiro's work as well.
Some works just spark emotions in me that are hard to explain. Koroshiya Ichi and Arashi's Freakshow both fall under that category. It's not necessarily disgust or simple curiosity, but it feels like an eager attempt at something different from the norm and a genuine if not bizarre expression of the creator without a filter. Maybe it's cause I feel that most people are a little ugly on the inside. Filled with guilt and remorse... insecurity and fear, but never really able to express it. I hate how things tend to be so sanitized in a lot of entertainment. Emotions are on a spectrum and you can't have some without the others and if you have no frame of reference for some emotions you won't be able to fully experience others. I feel like a lot of ppl substitute feeling negative emotions with drugs to numb themselves too...
On the outside I'm quite normal tbh... I have 2 jobs, I'm well behaved and polite and I don't get myself into trouble, but yeah I'm into weird shit sometimes... its just not something I tend to be comfortable sharing with other ppl, especially in real life. Maybe my morbid curiosity and interest stems from a chance to escape the mundane... in a really extreme way. I'd be lying if I said it never spilled over into IRL though. I do have friends that I go to like conventions with that know and I've even done a panel before. I met Shintaro Kago like 2 yrs ago when he was in Toronto at an art gallery he was going to. I felt pretty out of place it was all art and animation students and here I was this boring office clerk lol.
Wow your taste is actually fucking bizarre. Can you tell you what you find interesting about manga like Mr. Arashi's Freakshow and Koroshiya Ichi? I'm not here to persecute you btw, I'm kind of into this shit too, infact when I used to write articles I took a particular interest in Suehiro https://myanimelist.net/blog.php?eid=783275
Yo, there's a Hyouge Mono server on discord if you wanna join. Since the manga is being translated regularly there should be lots of people who read it now. whether you like to discuss the anime or discuss the new chapters or the manga as whole, the server can be good place for any of that. https://discord.gg/B6ATSRZ
I have heard of higher brothers, yes. Only one song though, "Nomadic".
Discovered it cause I listen to a lot of Joji. Do you like lo-fi hip-hop? What do you think of it?
Tommy isn't bad. I might listen to some of his other stuff.
sag my pants is a classic man. I got into him listening to ill mind 4. I only know him for his ill minds if I'm being completely honest. But his other tracks are still pretty g. I Need Help is probably one of my favorites, omg. The message, the lyrics, all of it. It's dark stuff but I love it.
Just listened to Token. Yeah, he does have that Hopsin vibe with him. I think its cause of how he raps, the voice probably.
indeed VIXX are from a smaller company, but their music is worth listening to.
since you're into horror you might like this MV, they released it back in 2013

the Olympic committee ceremony and the president of south korea , i'm so proud of them
by the way what does your username mean? me orinji = orange
Lol, nah, it's not important. It's an interesting name for a rapper to have the name "Gai" tho, then again, he's Chinese so it probably means something in the language.
Is this who you're referring to?
(On a side note I never knew stuff like this existed, this is pretty good tbh, any other Chinese rappers that are equally as good?)
Back to your post on that rap forum I made, who's Tommy Cash?(I just realized you had a video of him on your profile. My bad...)
And hell yeah man, Hopsin is the shit. I thought his latest ill mind was pretty good, what are your favorite tracks by him?
