Latin America Guy (so, english is not my first language and it is not my daily language) who watchs anime.
My score spectrum:

Obs: I only give score for animes that I watch the whole thing (not the sequel or the prequel included), and I do not put all animes that I drop in the "drop list" (ex: In a show with 12 eps, I do not consider the first 2-3 episodes, so if I stop seeing it on the episode 3 I will not put the anime on my dropped list).

10/10 - The Masterpiece, the 10/10 anime is a show that can transcend his own nature (as a 2D existence on a pararel world), when the show transcends of the screen and you can feel all the atmosphere, character feelings (and the changes of the same) and when you can dive on the soundtrack and art, this is a masterpiece. Recognize a masterpiece is hard, in the process you have to fuse the intution (without the rational and emotional side, just been guided by your radical existence sense) and reflect a lot about it (in a deep rational analysis, being analytical or holistic).

9/10 - In a rational way it is "perfect", the plot holes do not exists (or are very low), the characters development are natural (a truly human being growth process, in orther words, the characters are not so obscure and are not so shallow), the world (or the proposed world) does not has to be innovative, but has to be coerent. The inserction of the soundtrack must be good, and the art must feet the feeling of the characters and have to create a world for us to dive in. Some minor erros (a tecnical aspect) and the lacking of a hardcore intution (like the masterpice) prevents the masterpice.

8/10 - The same thing with the 9/10 concept, but with more mistake on the tecnical aspect (the plot holes are relevant, the characters are more unnatural, some minor errors on soundtrack insertion, the art do not suite the atmophere or it is just ugly). I can summarize the 8/10 with "the anime reachs the purpose to be a great entertainment". Below this score the anime is not safe to recommend for everyone.

7/10 - The anime reachs it proposes to be a good entertainment (only good, not great), but lacks a lot in characters, plot, soundtrack and/or art. Some tags can not pass this point. Hard to recommend for everyone.

6/10 - A anime that can catch you in some aspects, but it depends a lot in just one aspect of the show (50%of the time on the art or 50% of the time on the proposed world). You will finish this, but you will never recommend or rewatch it.
5/10 - Everything is mediocre, you can end the show, but you maybe will regret it.

4/10 - Bad show, never start a show with this score, 90% of the time the characters are shallow and unnatural, problems with soundtrack (inserting drama sound in a battle scene), characters insertion is forced and the character introdution is just awful.

3/10 - I never gave 3 or less for a anime, I think it is just a mistake of the creators. The same is valid for 2/10 and 1/10.
