Understandable, thank you. I have many friends who watch anime the way you do and I think it's the most sensible way, though I find it great to know and have an opinion on good and bad things as well in an industry I like. Yes, I mostly enjoy the discussions, reviews etc, especially when the others are people open for discussion and make me see the other side too, for example there were times I respected more shows I disliked, or saw the bad side of my favourite shows too. I am also writing my first book and I've always planned to do so, so I think this helps a lot^^
You should try to understand that not all people think like you, it's common sense. I love watching anime, discussing them and analyzing them. Honestly, if I watched all of the anime shows that exist, my mean score would be close to 2, right? Don't tell me your mean score would be higher than 4 if you watched all the existing anime out there, because most of them have extremely low MAL mean scores and aren't even popular. This doesn't mean there aren't many good shows out there, or ones that are interesting for discussion. To me, the weirdest people in the community are the ones that have such high scores like you; this way, people who stumble upon their profiles won't even care about their favourites and will never know what anime to avoid watching from their lists. Everything connects with the ratings and you can have a clear opinion of someone's taste when he uses all the numbers of the scale. Also, even 4/10 shows can be quite enjoyable for me; even 3s like Tokyo Revengers, whose plot was too dumb to rate it higher. It's just that their distance from my 10/10s is that long.
