I've checked out the first season of Ika Musume, and though I can't say it stands out greatly or something, but it was really enjoyable, hilarious (surpassing Azumanga in that aspect imo) and featured a bunch of adorable characters.
So yeah, thanks, I probably wouldn't know of it without your tip.
OK, nice to know you enjoyed it. Though I personally liked the second half a little bit more (except for the ending which was sorta stereotypical and didn't work for me), at least drama wasn't too farfetched here. In general what you said about post-modernism and characters are the reasons why I liked Mawaru Penguindrum too.
And what's about that show? Never heard of it, and even recommendations seem unfamiliar. I'm currently watching a couple of shows I want to finish before starting something new, but then I might give it a try if it's worth watching.
I know, I've read about CEFR and stuff.
Well, yep, 5 isn't "bad", but in my view it's the minimum degree of "satisfactory" - just like in our educational system where everything below 50% is considered unsatisfactory. I can understand those who use 5s and 4s as a positive score though, it's much better then using only 8s, 9s and 10s like all newbies do.
From what I see in your list, I'd suggest to watch Eve no Jikan, Mawaru Penguindrum (must-see for those who enjoyed Utena) and The Tatami Galaxy. They're not totally obscure, but neither mainstream I suppose.
I see. Well, C2 is quite a poor level, and you're writing reviews after all, I think many people just don't understand half of your idioms since they definitely aren't used in English at all. Anyway, sry for bothering m8, and nice to meet you too, I think you have some quite unusual taste and interesting opinions.
Обзоры у тебя весьма неплохо на русском выходят, а вот английский корявый, как мне кажется (хотя я и сам не ахти какой спец). Много неудачных выражений и оборотов, да и опечатки. Без обид, просто советую подправить по возможности.
Hmm I see, if you talk more here you'll get used to it.. maybe D: Isn't it easier to talk to people on the net than IRL.. I'm not antisocial or anything.. I'm just a bit shy but I can talk to people normally... I know how it feels if you don't have anyone from a community you're interested in.. Most people IRL would never show that they're into anime >.< (like me) I do have friends who watch anime.. But I don't see them anymore :/
What should I say about your list ?? First of all why are you ashmamed or feeling guilty of watching "Code Geass, SAO, Shingeki no Kyojin" I think they're pretty decent ?
I had a look at your animelist and the ratings.. they're all scattered and no real pattern.. So I couldn't find out what anime you enjoy the most
Also it seems you have something against mainstream anime T^T
Well everyone has different taste in anime 8D
I could recommend you some anime.. if I knew what kind of anime you like =D
Just because other anime's have tons of unnecessary narrative doesn't excuse this one's. I did get joy out of the first episodes but honestly it's getting real tough to watch the rest.
Shu's behavior is justified by the fact that he is just a normal high school student , but I was just pointing out that at times a lot of people (including myself) hated him. Although as we got closer to the end of the series his character started to grow on me along with Inori.
I gave the story a 5 simply because it had the potential to do so much more if they had more time to go into detail on some plot points, and the plot holes were a major drawback for most people. However ,the second half of Guilty Crown is what I felt really redeemed the story so I couldn't call it straight up "bad".
I actually dropped Code Grass first episode and didn't bother to put it on my anime list, and thanks for the recommendation I'll check that series out when I get the chance.

High School DxD... it doesn't have a deeper meaning though :| it has 'plot'
And no, I never go to 4chan...
