I believe that Japanese animation is unique among the arts. It combines some of the finest examples of literary, visual, dramatic and musical talent into a single medium. From urging the meaning of friendship or following two young persons growing closer, to imagining strange worlds or reenchanting our own, the variety of stories it tells and themes it deals with is quite astonishing. Since I fell in love with it almost ten years ago, anime has been a nigh constant companion during several chapters of my life, and I am grateful I can experience it so readily.
Logging my own anime journey is of course what I mainly use this site for, but I also like exchanging messages with the friends I made on here. In this light I would love to talk to you down in the comments – though I regret to say that I am very bad at replying promptly, so please bear with me! Thank you for reading this, feel free to have a look around! c:

Can't remember who, but yes, I did come across your profile.
It is hard to find good shoujo nowadays.
Bang Dream is very different than Blue Lock. BanG Dream! is a music multimedia project that focuses on girl bands, friendship and music. It's more slice-of-life, heartwarming, and sometimes dramatic, but in a feel-good way. Lots of cute girls and catchy songs. Although MyGo! and Ave Mujica is more darker compare to the original bands in the franchise.
I share the same sentiment as you with regards to fully appreciating the message Clannad conveyed to its audience. One cannot fully admire and acknowledge the brilliance of Clannad without having experienced it first hand.
I started watching both the Apothecary Diaries and Hyouka last week and I am hooked, especially on the former since I have an appreciation for the time and setting of the anime as well as its main theme revolving around pharmacy (medicinal and poisonous substances) as I have little knowledge about it and would like to learn more about it. The opening has already stuck itself into my hippocampus as I have constantly been listening to it, it's that amazing! Hyouka on the other hand is an interesting case since I do not believe I have watched an anime with a similar slice of life and mystery elements at its forefront. I am looking forward to the message that'll surely leave its mark on me. Naturally, Kyoto Animation does not disappoint with the cinematography and animation.
I completely agree that the maxim sounds like it came straight out of an anime or perhaps even an action-thriller flick, with a little drama sprinkled into the mix. I'm glad you think of it that way.
Anime plans for the summer, an excellent question. I suppose the Rebuild movies are definitely on the list since I've been meaning to watch them for about 2 years now. I'll definitely continue with the Monogatari series which means watching the Kizumonogatari films and continuing from there. Probably consider watching FMAB, probably. Devil Man Crybaby and Season 2 of Hibike Euphonium are most definitely on that list. Paprika and Look back are potential movies I could watch as well. Finally in terms of seasonal anime, Dandadan season 2 and Rascal Does not Dream of Santa Claus are on my radar.
To keep it clear, both for you and myself, here's the descending order in which I will most likely watch them:
Admittedly, this list is bound to change as I've only thought of it as of typing this message. My apologies for the late reply. I've been very busy lately and I'm doing as best as I can to get back into the swing of things to do what must be done. What about you, what are your anime plans for the summer if I may ask?
Ich hoffe, dass alles in diesem Moment für Ihnen gut geht! My German is a little rusty so pardon me if I made any errors and don't hesitate to correct me.
God bless you too.
And post your list of the ten best anime of all time here: https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=2208449
If you’re looking for a great romance anime with realistic characters and an amazing story, NANA is a must watch. I’ve rarely seen such well written characters in an anime.
I also was pleasantly surprised by Nina the Starry Bride it deserves another season if you ask me. I’m not reading the manga (yet), I’ve only seen a few spoilers so far. Are you reading the manga?
I have been watching Blue Box, My Happy Marriage s2, Ave Mujica, Honey Lemon Soda and s2 of The Apothecary Diaries.
I'm now even more eager watching Hyouka and The Apothecary Diaries after your brief descriptions about them, thanks a lot!
No need to apologize for your disinterest in Konosuba. Every one has their own tastes in anime and I respect that you remain true to yours.
The quote on my profile was told to me by someone I know when I was going through a difficult period in my life and it has stuck with me ever since. I am forever grateful to that person.
I sent the friend request when I saw you had Clannad and Evangelion in your favorites. I have never watched nor heard much of Hyouka before so I'm planning to watch it once I will have finished with the anime of this season. I'm planning to watch it alongside the Apothecary Diaries as well as the Konosuba OVA next season.
Would you mind sharing what you're planning on watching next season? I too hope that things are going well for you at the moment!
Yeah, everyone seems to be saying the manga is a thousand times better, and yikes! I might just read it myself and forget about the anime lol.
What's so awful about Anyway, I'm Falling in Love with You? And I will not stand for Orange slander!! (Did I ever tell you my mom also is in love with Orange, btw? XD)
Oh, I see. Thanks for explaining. Well, does the aspect ratio affect your viewing experience that much? Especially since it's expected for an older series like this. I do also wish it was HD fullscreen, though, and I might actually buy the Blu-ray of Romeo's Blue Skies when it releases.
Also, when are we continuing Saki? :)
And you know Romeo's Blue Sky is one of my most anticipated anime! What's the difference between HD widescreen and HD fullscreen, though?
I'm surprised Nobody's Boy Remi wasn't already on your list haha. It seems like a good show. :)
Yeah, probably lol. You can use those Excel spreadsheets you're so fond of and call it MyAnimeShoppingList. XD
