On My Self:
I don't know if one can consider me an otaku, alhtou using MAL is a very solid reason one can argue that i am an otaku. That being said I enjoy many form of entertainment and story telling, movies, TV shows, cartoons, novels, manga, anime, light novels, games, etc. I do think my review and thoughts are superbly constructed, but of course i'm open to polite messages and thoughts. Also my review are very suitable for those who is new to the anime scene and still very serviceable for the avid watcher.
On Ratings:
1-3 Drop this shit!!!
4-5 Are you very bored that you have nothing else to watch or to do?
6-7 Mediocre
8 Good
9 Great
10 Masterpiece
example:
1-3 Pupa
4-5 Quanzhi Fashi
6-7 Sword Art Online
8 Erased
9 Spice and Wolf season 2
10 Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
yes there is a ten, as i don't believe in perfection even a ten is not perfect, despite that a masterpiece is always a ten for me, a must watch because despite its imperfection it will leave its watcher with a better sense of what an anime can be and what an anime can offer.
My Personal Thought on Anime and Anime Review:
I believe in reviewing a work one must write freely and write what that particular work points of notice are, albeit if it a positive or a negative.
Every anime will have many genre incorporated into it even thou there is a the main prominent genre. So if the anime only excel in one genre and ignore the other part it will surely brought down the level work.
For me characters are the most important part of an anime, then story. Why you might ask? Because you can have a bad story with some good characters and it will still be enjoyable while the reverse might not workout that well because you will probably get frustrated by the actions of the poorly written characters. The key ways one can judge a characters is by the way the characters interact with each other (do they stay true to the way they are introduce or if not, then why?), do they develop over time, are theirs background impact the way it should have, do they act too over friendly or too trusting, this is a drizzle of the ways to judge a character. Of course for one characters to another there will always be a different points of notice and there is always some other ways to judge the characters, but the afore mention can be uses as a guideline.
A good story in an work in my opinion does not need to be some thing grand or fulls of plot twist, of course you can make something grand but that is not the key. For me the key to a good story is a well executed story. A well executed story will make most of what it have and blossom it into a beautiful story. A logic story where there is not a major major plot hole or an ignored major event. Also does not have any rift in story, especially time wise. No unnecessary ways to gain emotional reactions from viewer, except maybe a comedy or if it is a comedic show. like wise this is just a guide line of how i judge story.
In short i think a logistically character and story where it uses or developed what ever it has into it utmost potential is a mark of a great work.
