Kind of long in the tooth for an anime fan, but here I am.
Originally a Star Trek fan (born 3 weeks before TOS premiered and a Godzilla fan (hence my web-name), online I Admin the Elfen Lied Wiki and write fanfic, including the well-received Love Hina series Life After Molmol, which tells (my view of) what happened between the main finale and the grand finale of the manga series. When I say well-received, BTW, I do it with immense gratitude towards the readers that have made it so.
I'm also working on an Avatar TLA post-series arc called 'The Bridge' that goes in a different direction than the canon comics, but not out of spite. My favorite series to write is 'The Never-Ending Battle', a series that places the medics of the 4077th M*A*S*H into the worlds of SF/F. Chiefly, I like to have fun writing, and nothing makes me happier than a crossover. My magnum opuses in that regard are : A Leap In Anger, crossing Quantum Leap with the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno Hulk, and Along The Way, which has the crew of the USS Voyager meet and interact with the 1960's TV versions of their 'ancestors', the Space Family Robinson from 'Lost In Space'.
My motto : Hate Hatred and Fight Violence, and always keep to high moral standards, no matter how low you have to sink to do it.

Yes, we have watched it all. Actually, I saw stuff way back in the early 50's when we got our first TV. It was a round screen and was only about 6 or 7 inches across. Things sure have changed since then.
It was due to an independaent station that I watched my very first anime. It was Astro Boy in B&W shown for around 7-8 weeks. Then it disappeard probably due to the Assassination of John Kennedy. The city I lived in was Sister Citry to Sapporo, Japan and probably got it from a station there. This was all in 1963. I was 17 at the time, a senior in high school.
I know what you mean about the people who can't believe I'm 67 (or you @ 42 then) and an anime fan. But, they sure check my completed list for things to watch. My experience is worth something, anyway. LOL.
1 - Dozens of 'Quest' shows whose resolution we will never see the end of.
2 - Saturday Mornings filled with NOTHING but endless clones of Scooby-Doo, Archie and animated adaptations of live-action shows.
3 - Christmas Specials you had no choice but to watch when they were broadcast, or miss them for an entire year.
4 - Charlie Brown + every holiday in existence
5 - Independent Stations that played stuff you would never have seen otherwise.
