As you can see I'm bad at checking too. :P
I use my MAL App on my phone to update my lists so don't get on my profile much. Glad to hear things are okay mate. Things are cool here too, if not a little hectic at the moment. Married now and presently updating a house to move into. It's fecking stressful! DX
Speaking of Steam (well.. games), are you getting Battlefield 3? I preordered it the other day. I've been caining Bad Company 2 (when I get the chance) in preperation. :D
I thought I had already replied to you, for some reason. Where is my mind? lol. Truly sorry about that bud.
Since we last talked though, I would say that my life is somewhat on the up and up again. There wasn't anything too bad going on before anyway, it was just one those beginning of term funks. But yes, how are you man? How's uni treating you now?
But yeah, about Texhnolyze- make sure that you do watch it. Regardless of how depressing it is, it is still a cult classic and one of my favorites. I actually liked the "no hope" message of the show, surprisingly. Oh and yes, I remember now that you aren't too big a fan of the drama animes. NHK, may not be right for you then. Although, I think you should, at the very least, give it a chance.
Speaking of music though, I'm actually not just fully into metal only dude. I am actually a pretty big fan of electronic, ambient, and ESPECIALLY dubstep. I fucking love dubstep, been listening to it even more since I went to a concert in Toronto last summer. Great stuff, don't know if your a fan, but I do like it a lot.
What have I been watching recently though...hmm. I have been reading a good amount of manga. But I just started watching Eureka 7 (I'm a joke- I know), and have been watching XAM'd also. I also just watched Summer Wars yesterday too, which was pretty awesome.
But yes, alternative forms of contact? Well, PSN seems to be the best option at this point. I don't remember your online handle- otherwise I would have added you. But as you know, mine is the same as my screen name on here- silentsennin. Add me, if you would like. Cheers bro.
So I am actually going to respond in a timely manner this time- big surprise I know haha. But I hope that your holidays went well also dude. As for me, I am beyond sick of home and my college, so I don't really want to be in either place right now. It is almost like I am stuck in some sort of hellish purgatory. Sorry if that seems overdramatic, but that is how I feel haha.
Toradora! is a great show though, it's been awhile since I saw it but I remember being pretty happy with the series and the ending of it as well. I should probably re-watch it soon. In terms of good anime's that I have been watching lately though, I just got done with texhnolyze, which was beyond incredible. It was one of the best atmospheric shows that I have ever seen. Its incredibly depressing throughout the whole thing though, so make sure you are ready for it if you do plan to watch it. I also, got done with Kanon awhile ago which was also really good, but I sort of have an odd penchant for fantasy/drama anime's. Don't now if it is your speed though.
As for films, I just saw the King's Speech, which I thought was pretty damn good. I also saw Black Swan, but I thought that it was horrifically bad (no pun intended haha). That was a movie that piled on the atmosphere so thick and in the wrong way. As for Japanese live action one's, I just saw one that was about highschool kids who were put on an island and made to kill each other- I can't remember the name right now but it was alright. What is Kamikaze Girls and Memories of Matsuko though?
Oh and btw, how is Genshiken? I just got done with Welcome to the NHK! and I have heard that it is pretty similar. I need to watch it if it is. Regardless, hopefully this coming term shouldn't be so bad and we can catch up more. Oh and I almost forgot- my new PSN name is the same name that i have on here- I had to change my old one so add me if you want.
I know dude, its been too long. But the university has been robbing me of every bit of time I have. Luckily, I still have a bit of time to watch some anime here and there, but not nearly as much as I use too. I've been having midterms so I have been MIA on this site for quite some time. I mean, I really didn't have to update my list at all, So yeah sorry its taken me awhile to respond.
How are things with you? And more importantly, have you seen any good anime/manga/movie's lately? haha
Man seriously? It was me? And there I was thinking it was BlackWolf or someone.
Also! I will make an effort to go on the chat at some point. I've not been spending much time on the computer recently except for browsing the occasional site like here and the boards, hence my activity on here going up a tiny bit. lol.
Every time I visit your account, I see that "certain member" thing and I'm always like... "Who the hell is that then?" - so now I'm actually asking: Who the hell is that then?
Don't worry: if you annoyed me, I would've deleted AND blocked you. You're welcome to question me with regards to anime and manga related matters. I may take between a week and a year to reply, but you can be certain that I'll get back to you, one day.
The Naruto 1-27 manga box set once sold for cheap at TBD. Now, I think the cheapest you can get it in the UK is £80. And people on eBay are dumb; being willing to pay £60 for 1-27 used. You're shit out of luck for being slow to get on the Naruto train, bra'.
Heh, yeah - I'm HORRIBLE with names. The first thing that's a challenge with me when watching/reading anything is remembering the names and roles of the main characters.
Usually, when I'm talking about something I watched/read awhile back, I remember characters by seeing their faces in my head rather than their names.
I recommend you stay away from Legend of the Galactic Heroes: the amount of names in the first episode alone will cause you a lot of pain.
Naruto starts slowly, with a few shitty opening chapters, but, once team seven gets together and the Zabuza arc gets flowing, it's 10/10 entertainment; providing you digg shounen shit, like I do.
I'm not picking FFXIII up. Period. I still have no HDTV and, consequently, no HD consoles. Plus, as my AUKN posts suggest, I think FFXIII will be the biggest pile of shit since FFX.
I removed you 'cause I tend to remove people I haven't spoken to at length and haven't exchanged messages with for awhile. I'm not into having a 'friends' I don't speak with every now and then--it was nothing personal.
The anime is very faithful to the manga; it's near enough identical until the filler and Shippuuden. The manga is better simply because the art looks nicer and the action is easy to follow, but the anime wouldn't be a bad way to go. The anime does have some sweet music and Japanese voice acting, if nothing else.
If you can't get the manga for cheap, I'd recc going with the anime until 135, dropping it and then starting reading the manga from part two onwards.

I know you are there, I hope you are always healthy and please come back anytime!
If you give me you're email, I'll send one to you (I'm not allowed to post my email address online). I can explain why in the email. ¬_¬
Just purchsed the Baccano Boxset for £12! Bargain!
