Alrighty then, here is an added bonus for you....go and download a trial copy of Avast! Pro, then, if you want to you can go to: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html to download a copy of Spyware Blaster to protect you from Spyware, and go and download SUPERAntispyware Free Edition http://superantispyware.com so you can scan your system every so often for Spyware, you should also tell it to not start when Windows does, so you dont get a slow down.
And maybe you should download Windows Defender from Microsoft, to have real-time protection against Spyware, just like Avast! does for viruses.
Also if you use Internet Explorer, I suggest you switch to Firefox, much safer for you. And I can show you some awesome addons to keep you safe and secure, and so you can download fast as well.
As for the Avast! trial, look for a message from me for further details.
sweet, glad that I could help, I tried searching the web for answers, and even tested the site with McAfee and Spyware Terminator, but it was clean. But normally when I can't figure anything out, I turn to Comodo or Majorgeeks.com
And as for the Avast! that you have, I suggest you uninstall it completely with the Avast Uninstaller: http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear.exe (direct link), then reinstall it. As a just in case (cause you said that your Avast was buggy), But before you remove it, what kind of Avast did you have, Home Edition or Professional, and do you have any other security programs on your computer?
So any luck yet at the removal of what ever it is? I asked my mentor, and even he could not think of anything, except that something was affected in your Windows directory. But don't worry, I am building a list of programs for you to use to get rid of it, and they should work. I'll send ya a link when Im done. The programs I have used for all my virus trouble, and they seem to work everytime.
Just a couple more questions for ya:
1. Do you use Internet Explorer?
2. Is your Avast! Home or Pro editions?
mkay, but before I can help you with anything I need to know a few things:
1. What is exactly happening with the computer?
2. Are you protected by an AntiVirus/AntiSpyware/Firewall?
3. Have you tried to remove the virus? And if so with what?
4. Is your computer up to date with patches and updates?
3. What Operating System (I need complete OS name)
Example: Windows XP Professional 32bit
4. What Brand of computer is it? (Ex. Compaq Presario C751NR...)
5. Do you have an Operating System CD?
If you can give me that info, then I can more than likely narrow it down on how to remove them.
Thanks (Also sorry for all the questions, just gotta know what is goin on).
