The whole premise is extremely stupid. The dragons decided to lay waste to a kingdom because a pastry shop went out of business? The show is extremely cringe, low effort and bad quality. Anime is mixed with 3D CG, which makes for choppy and unimpressive movement and combat. Not to mention 80% of the things they say in this show is super cliche. Feels like it's catered towards 12-year-olds.

Also are we forgetting the fact that the main character is infatuated with a 12 year old girl?

I've seen some people over hype this show, but after watching a little bit of it I can only come ... to the conclusion that those people are extremely starved for anything, if they are willing to give praise to this piece of dog s***.

I probably shouldn't have given it a 10 but was a decent watch with a proper ending, so i'll leave it at that.

Story wise, the show isn't anything special. There have been a lot of similar Anime's - about superpowers and how the MC has the best one of them. Personally, for me its very obvious how they assimilated a lot of material from Heroes (The TV series), but none the less, i came to appreciate how the series ended and that is the reason why i'm rating it so high.

A lot of fan gave it bad rating due to the rushed ending - last ... episode, what could have instead been enough fodder for another 12 and extend the series up to 24 episodes, but there were probably reasons why it didn't happen.
Very likely funds were the limiting factor for the Project, so they decided to wrap it up at 13, but in my opinion, that is a much better outcome, than leaving it at 12 episodes with a cliffhanger and have fans waiting for a sequel that in 95% of cases never happens.

I have too long of a list of animes that were never continued after 12 episodes, so this 13th episode makes most sense and gives me a feeling of accomplishment after watching the whole series and seeing it through.

With that said, my long rant why i think the ending was a good choice is over.

Art wise, the show reminded me of Lelouche and the main hero also shared quite a few characteristics with him.
Character development felt smooth for the main hero, however everyone except him was rushed and shallow.

Sound wise, i can't really comment much on it because it didn't leave any impact. Music was there, but it wasn't captivating enough to leave any memory of it.

Overall, i would rate the show at around 7-8, but because of how they scratched my itch with the ending, i'll leave it at 10.

Also, the only other gripe i have with the Anime, is that it wasn't very impactful at first - i would have dropped it after the first few episodes if i had anything better to watch. It only became engrossing after the 6th episode or so, when his little sister died, otherwise it was mediocre by that point.

Honestly i can't say i have been impressed. The anime itself has beautiful art and a decent setting but the execution was just lacking.

The music and sound was fair, but i not had a moment where it gave me goosebumps, it was just there and nothing more.

The anime itself was nothing amazing, nor innovative, there are other anime of this genre that are more inspiring and accomplish more.

Towards the middle of the season, the episodes get long and boring, i couldn't watch it in one go since it wasn't all consuming like some other titles.

Personally i think its alright, but not as great as advertised.

The story is a but rundown, it isn't the first of its kind plot wise, there have been a handful of other animes with similar themes but the execution was very crisp and well-done.

The art is very modern, but not edgy like most anime tries to be nowadays, with sharp angles and character design, making it look too futuristic, but rather a bit down to earth and plain, yet drawn with quality.

The music is very memorable, i've listened to the main theme atleast a dozen times, its just that catchy and fun.

Character development was neither deep nor shallow, everything had good pacing. I was actually ... surprised how much they managed to squeeze into less than two hours worth.

Enjoyed the show a lot, everything just clicks and made it a great movie to watch.

Overall even tho the story wasn't original, i still rate it at a 10 because its been a while since i've seen a movie, that Ghibli studio didn't put to shame.
