Pretty happy that the Yome anime seems to understand the source material's strength (IIRC I think you said in a previous discussion that it would work much better as an anime). I
I also forgot to mention Sound of the Sky in that list of things Shuumatsu it reminded me of, smh. I would say the manga is a bit more moody (since it's in black and white and features no dabbing or pop songs) and a bit more crude artwise (which is mostly were my Blame comparison comes from, since the anime only has a little bit of it), but story-wise it's a faithful adaption and even made some scenes signifiacalty better (since the manga is kinda bare-bones when it comes to detailed background, for the most part).
Yeah, I wouldn't say it's big enough of an improvement if you didn't care for the first season (I'm only really attached to it since it's by the creator of Trigun, which is a show/manga that means a lot to me), it's more of a ''wow, I didn't dislike this as much as I thought I would''-feeling for me, I suppose?
Fittingly enough I actually recently finished reading Gantz and idk if I would say it's worth it (though if you want batshit crazy stuff, it's a masterpiece in that regard).
Hmmm, sounds like something that'd be fun in a group-watch setting, but I'd probably mostly feel miserable watching something like that on my own.
I haven't tried out everything yet (namely 3-gatsu, Yome and Children of the Whales, the former two which I already know will be really good) due to prioritizing other things entertainment wise, but so far it seems to be an unusually good season. I also want to try the manga for the Land of the Lustrous, since I've heard good things about it and the artwork looks pretty fantastic (and the anime doesn't really look all that appealing), as well as watching Yuuki Yuna from the start.
Out of the ones I've actually managed to watch:
Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou is probably my favorite, kinda reminds me of a cute girls version of Blame (mostly the wandering around an endless world with not all that much civilization, I guess?), but with more dialogue and some pretty not so subtle philosophy thrown in there (I've even started the manga for it).
The new Kekkai Sensen season is slightly better than the first season thus far (though that doesn't really say much), since the anime original stuff seems to be gone
The new Kino is just fine (the stories are as good as before, but not really too keen on the new look)
InuYashiki is pretty bad and I know it will get even worse since I read the manga for it to the end
LLSS is pretty much my way of doing self-harm at this point, though at least the character designs are pretty good
Honestly, it's mostly the fan-art I keep seeing on Twitter that makes me slightly curious (I like the designs a lot), so we'll see. I'm not really too big on the franchise (at least from what I've experienced thus far, with Zero being the exception).
I actually enjoyed SukaSuka too out of that bunch (will probably read the LN at some point, since I got it downloaded and everything), so that does sound really, really tempting. Guess I'm giving Abyss a spin real soon, ty ty.
not really a big fan, but some ok time-wasters (plus the decent/good leftover from spring)
some short impressions:
dropped kakerugui (it's kinda entertaining I guess, but not enough of my thing to want to finish, OP was cool tho') and that centaur show (I only managed like half the episode, I didn't find it very cute or funny like e.g. Demi-chan)
new game!! is alright, but not as good as the first one thus far
ballroom is a little bit more engaging than the manga (since actually seeing the dancing in motion is pretty slick) and they somehow made the main girl even more best girl material
tsurezure is ok qt fluff stuff and I like it more than the manga in this case too (the gags seem less repetitive outside of the 4-koma format and the jokes flow a bit better in general....plus the VA casting in particular is too good to be true)
might try the new Fate soon, also abyss (since it's apparently the most well-recieved one thus far)
at the very least I can catch up on some stuff from winter/spring (like kuzu no honkai and tsuki ga kirei.....also probably going to start re:creators soon-ish, especially since its on break this week)

I kinda want to keep a more low-key presence on the web, so I'll have to decline
For Children of the Whales, it's honestly mostly the 10/10 manga covers that have caught my attention. (http://img1.ak.crunchyroll.com/i/spire3/c12164d0ab93ce6cd6c114ca5f2958911489601330_full.jpg). Guess I'll have to give it a try and see for myself.
