I think I might pass on Nagato Yuki. I liked Haruhi first season, but that second season the endless eight arc were dreadful. It was not a good use of my time seeing the same episode 8 times XD. I doubt the new studio will do that...but I'll pass on it for now. Nisekoi I haven't seen the first season so I'll pass on it in the meantime.
Knights of Sydonia I might see it since Johnny Yong Bosch voices the MC in the English dub. Regardless how the anime he's in turn out he's a selling point for me to check out a series.
Next season I'm looking forward to seeing Ninja Slayer The Animation I'm looking forward too. It's by Studio Trigger and I liked Kill La Kill allot. I love the team art style and over the top action. I'm also looking to the Gundam Origin OVAs. I'm liking the original anime so I'll see it for sure.
The other stuff I'll just see just because. Fate Stay Night Unlimited Bladworks second half I'll see because I saw the first half. From the preview it seems like Ufotable is finally going to do something new with Fate Stat Night in second half. Then there's also Kekkai Sensen since it's by the same mangaka of Trigun which I like allot. Aside from those I don't think I'll pick up anything else. There's the new Lupin III anime I want to see, but will go through the original anime before checking it out. It just programmed into me to check out the original before the remake.
It was either him or Inaho as a leading a character. Given how much the anime doesn't care about developing Inaho I prefer Slaine without question. At least he struggles winning a battle. I don't have a problem with over power characters proven by Guts from Berserk, but Inaho wasn't a good instance of that sort of character being put to good use. Can't argue about the writing since it's literally making up stuff as it goes along. Like the half-sister thing.
For me, the original Mobile Suit Gundam suits me just fine. While Aldnoah.Zero is nice eye candy, but Mobile Suit Gundam also delivers on the story for me. It might be dated, but I even prefer the mech battles in it because of how well its builds up excitement. Plus, that's cheesy, but enduring opening theme song never gets old to listen too haha.
Death Parade I get recommended to see allot. I'll get to it eventually and share my thoughts on it.
Your also halfway finished with Durarara!. It's a great series, but the main characters do get overshadow by more interesting leading characters. As for Aldnoah.Zero season 2 my thoughts are still the same. The soundtrack is awesome, but everything else doesn't do it for me. The story is a bit of an improvement since Slaine is now the leading character. I wonder if how it's going to end this time. I'll be laughing if it ends in a similar way to the first season.
Personally I liked it allot, though prefer if it had a second season since there's allot that can it build upon. It introduce allot of cool ideas and had a great central cast, but supporting characters were left in the dust and plot points were left dangling. Like the whole Bishamon hunting Yato thing was left unresolved. In terms of animation it was nice, though despite the studio it became clear the director prefer character drama over action scenes. I can't blame him since it was he excelled at. If it doesn't get a second season that'll be disappointing since there's some untapped potential for the series.
I started the Stardust Crusader anime not too long ago. I saw the first episode dubbed to check out how it was. Got to admit it was better than I expected because the voice cast that was chosen were perfect. Though, I still see it with subs since I prefer the Japanese voice actors. There's just something about their over the top delivery that the English dub can't capture the same way. It's pretty cool seeing the battles animated too. Hopefully the second season around is the same length. I wouldn't want David Production to cut corners in the story. Whenever they get around to doing the final battle in that arc hopefully it'll be just as awesome. Haven't been doing allot of manga reading recently so not a whole lot of progress was made in Part 4 for me, though I'm planning on finishing it before seeing the anime adaptation if it gets one.
Berserk is pretty good, but starts off very slow. The writing is great so I don't mind the slow pacing no matter if it will feel on several occasions not much progress was made. I've read the one shot which was longer than I expected it to be so I only gotten to around chapter 10 in the main series.
Been doing allot of reading too. Aside from Jojo, I'm mostly reading manga my friends suggested to me. So stuff like Kingdom, Vinland Saga, Arachnid, Dead Tube, Eden No Ori, and Hiyokoi are pretty much recommendations I took up by words of friends. I can tell a bit of what they like depending on what they recommend me. I'm also trying to finished the very old Hi No Tori which is pretty much anthology about immortality in different era. It's first chapter was fantastic, but oh man it took me like an hour to get through. It's still the longest chapter I've ever read in any manga. I'm also thinking about reading some of Hirohiko Araki other manga even if there aren't as popular or well received.
What I liked Stardust Crusader is that it had plenty of action and awesome fights. The two that stood for sure for me were the D'Arby brothers poker game and video game fights. The characters had to use their brains more in these fights than in any other. One part I feel it made a misstep was Abdul death. His fake death left a bigger impression than his actual death which is saying something. Even Iggy had a better death scene. Another thing I like is all the music references. I got to admit I laughed a bit when I read a villain name was Vanilla Ice. That still cracks me up and thankfully he got beat up.
The final fight was awesome. It did not fail to deliver what I wanted to see. Especially after Dio supposedly killed Joseph I simply wanted to see Jotaro to kill Dio that much more. I was fully satisfy with the outcome of that fight. The humor was great too as well as some of the dialogue. The supporting is so far the best in any of the series. Unlike in previous ones, the crew in Stardust Crusader come across as more helpful defeating more than one foe or at least helping another member in their fight. Sure Jotaro was over power for most of it, but it never felt like the other members were entirely useless.
Who's your favorite Joestar so far? I've only read three (just today started Part 4) Jojo manga so far, but for me it has to be Joseph Joestar. He's all around a likable characters from his easy going attitude to his dedication to protect his friends and family. It also helps he has tons of cool moments like the plane crash in the final chapters in Battle Tendency and that awesome chariot race which is still favorite battle in the series from what I've read. Although, the fact he had another kid makes all the more curious what happened between Part 3 and Part 4. Part 4 is off to a good start. From only one volume, Josuke seems like an interesting and has more a personality compared to Jotaro. Since it's Jojo, I know it won't disappoint me by now.
Mirai Nikki was one of the first anime I saw. I liked it at the time, but haven't revisted since last year. I remember Yuno being the best part of the series, but Yuki was a whimp from beginning to end never changing. Despite how bad I heard Guilty Crown is I'm still planning on seeing it. When Tetsurou directed my favorite anime of all time, Death Note, I have a greater interest to see all he's done.
I've heard Aldnoah/Zero soundtrack and it's glorious. My favorite song in the soundtrack has to be "aLiez". Mizuki vocals are epic in that track, unfortunately haven't been able to find more of her music. It's a pretty common surname in Japan. Sawano finds these incredible singers is beyond me, but man he has a good ear for music.
I liked the first season of Tokyo Ghoul, but probably won't check out the second season until later. Death Parade and Assassination Classroom I'm making plans to check out. One's by Madhouse (Death Note again) so that's a obvious choice and the other is done by Lerche who did a good job adapting the Persona 4 video game and turning it into an anime. Still need to catch up to Jojo. Wish it had the same amount of viewer other anime have. It definitely deserves it. If Aldnoah/Zero has some of Sawano best work I might just have to see it.
There's a anime in April calls Ninja Slayer that could be promising since it's by Studio Trigger who did Kill La Kill. It's look much better than the last anime they did. Although, I'm a bit worried that something that has Ninja in the title is a sci-fi. Still, if anyone can pull of Ninjas it's Studio Trigger.
See Hiroyuki Sawano is in your favorite. He's a great composer. I especially his stuff from Shingeki no Kyojin which to date is my favorite OST in any anime. In second, it would be his work on Kill La Kill which was awesome. Though, I haven't seen the anime he compose music for though, like Guilty Crown. I might see it since Araki Tetsurou directed my favorite anime, Death Note, so seeing everything he's done is on the to do list.
