23 year old me* has no idea how 17 year old me thought Attack On Titan was shit.
How could I have been so pretentious? It's got everything. Grotesqueries, military oorah,
school shooter protagonists, stunning animation, and I wanna lay my head in Mikasa's lap.
How could anyone deny such a pure experience?
There's no point in trying to be smarter than a chinese cartoon. The fact that they exist and
we have the privilege to watch them is cause for celebration.
As we get older, we probably won't need the support of our waifus as much as we do now, but they'll always be cheering us on from the other side, and waiting to greet us when we die. For them, try not to waste too much time criticizing anime, it's not what got you into it in the first place. If you're having fun trashing something that's all well and good, but don't waste your time on hatred, that time would be better spent in the loving arms of Ookumo-chan, Penteano Œufcoque, Mina Tepes, or whatever waifu you've chosen to guide you on your path.
Stay strong gamers, we're all gonna make it.

Wow haha, hey, I completely forgot about my comment. Also sorry for the late reply, I intended to reply to you a few days ago, but then my pc shut down mid comment and I was too angry to rewrite everything again, but now that I've gathered the motivation here goes a few of my opinions (again sorry for the essay in advance, I can get really passionate lol):
.
1. Why did Eren have to do it? He sacrificed 80% of the world + his homeland for some naive goal of making his friends look like heroes or whaterver. It's like a kid's cartoon motivation. He knew that at some point, the world will come back and get back at Paradis, just as it once did.
.
2. How does Historia's pregnancy symbolize Eren's choosing of his own people? In fact, you could argue it symbolizes just the opposite. He was not the father, he didn't finish the Rumbling (thus dooming the island), he choose to save the world and a few of his friends.
.
3. No, he did kill her. It's strongly implied that his future self, as the Founding Titan, redirected the Smiling Titan from Bertholdt (if I remember correctly?), to eat his mother instead, so he could "get his past self the motivation to destroy all titans", which he didn't even do in the end, because Mikasa's grandson just started the cycle again.
.
4. Yes, but the whole point of the Rumbling was to ensure that most of the humanity ceased to exist and let Paradis prosper and (possibly) repopulate the Earth. That's my exact problem, he stopped at 80%. And I know that sounds evil, but the whole world was against them, not just Marley like Armin and the Alliance thought. Remember Willy Tybur's speech? The whole world was clapping. The whole wide world against no more than 100k ignorant people on a little island. Omnicide is evil, but he had no other choice. It's people you grew up with, or a bunch of strangers who only wish you the worst.
.
5. Also one of my biggest problems. The whole series centers around Eren and humanity moving forward, breaking the cycle and trying to achieve freedom, but at the end it all just falls into the water and the author says fuck it, nothing matter either way, the cycle continues lol.
.
6. I kinda gave you the answer to this in the 4th paragraph.
.
7. Yes but the difference was that Mikasa was loved and accepted, Grisha was never cruel to her and adopted her out of sympathy. Then after he died, Eren loved her more than anything (even the ending confirms that. Ymir was a slave. A poor, tortured soul with a Stockholm syndrome. If he was going to make a comparison between these two, he should've either changed Mikasa's or Ymir's character to fit the other one.
.
8. I mean if you say it was sweet, then I can't really say anything to that haha. I think it was disgusting and out of place, but to each their own ig.
.
9. Okay, now that some time has passed, I think Reiner deserves some sympathy. Man went through hell and wanted to die more than anything, I forgive him now. BUT THAT MOTHERFUCKER ANNIE. I could write a whole another essay about hating Annie, but I'll try to keep it short. She enjoyed killing (remember the yoyo scene), she said she would do it again if it meant seeing her father, but when Marley starts getting in danger because of Eren and her daddy isn't safe anymore, suddenly she's all pacifist and ms. morality police. And her nose is too big lol.
.
All in all, I still don't like the ending, and I think I never really will, but I've found peace with it, I'm pretty indifferent to it now. Glad you liked it though. Cheers
the last arc was awful, especially chapters 136-139. manga spoilers alert ahead...
eren lost all his character and became a simp
the historia pregnancy was just edging us for nothing
eren killedh is own mother.... i feel isayama just put it there for the sake of plot twist
paradis got destroyed and ruined the whole tatakae thing they had going on
titans aren't dead? i'm not even sure at this point
eren killed 80% of humanity just for the rest to take revenge and continue the endless cycle of war
the author actually thought that ymir-mikasa was a good parallel lol
bonus:
mikasa kissing eren's dead head
the worm dying off-screen
reiner sniffing historia's letter as his final scene
annie is still alive ffs
so yea, the whole ending was just one big fuck you to the audience and 11ish years of work
