Thanks for reading this whole mess of a description
1) Can I expect emotional storytelling from Silver Jiken? Or is it more mystery/background lore focused?
2) Is Kiseijuu manga better than the anime? I like Kana's design in the anime far more, but it's been modernized.
You can DM me the answer if you don't want to accept a random FR. Thanks!
Nah I haven't seen TP: The Return. I binged the original TP series in five days because I had a free 1-week trial with a streaming service that had it. So I didn't have time to watch it. Also, a part of me felt sad seeing characters I loved become old (like Audrey who I had a huge crush on 😭). But I have heard a lot of people say that it is David Lynch's best work so I will watch it someday.
I kinda feel bad about binging Twin Peaks in five days, I feel like if I had watched it slowly, I could've immersed myself in the world of Twin Peaks more. During the second season, I got a bit bored of it and I thought some of the plots were stupid.
Two days ago, I watched Wild at Heart, have you seen that? It kinda reminded me of a movie Tarantino wrote called 'True Romance'. It was a bit cheesy but it had good moments towards the end I thought (especially when Willem Dafoe appeared).
Oh man, I'm sorry about the Love Aaj Kal experience (would you recommend that movie?). That must suck. I think next time I go to the cinema, I will choose a movie that couples probably wouldn't watch. Recently I saw that my local cinema is going to show Kagemusha, that's probably a suitable movie haha xD
I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you see better days. I'm glad we can come to an understanding, and I apologize for escalating the situation before it came to that. And yes, GITS does blow Texh out of the water.
Wow and a coward too. If you had any confidence in your points you'd actually post your shitty arguments on my page. And if you actually had better things to do then you wouldn't have bothered writing the rebuttal to begin with right? It just keeps getting better doesn't it.
I didn't misphrase anything but you even seem incapable of remembering your own points, much less your precious shows. This is exactly what you said:
"As for this vague and more symbolic storytelling it appeals to a more niche audience that prefer shows that does not expose every information regarding the scenes. I mean there are many PPL who love GITS 1995 including myself that like the more symbolic and atmospheric stories that leaves vague detail for your own interpretation".
I took this to mean that GITS is an example of symbolic/atmospheric storytelling being a valid way of doing things because in the previous sentence you're saying that AOT is the example of traditional storytelling. If there is any confusion here, that is your own damn fault for not writing clearly, but that shouldn't be a surprise since you still don't know how to separate sentences properly and use proper grammar, much less have reading comprehension.
Based on this, it doesn't matter if GITS destroys Texhnolyze because you're supposedly bringing in GITS to prove a point about how ambiguous storytelling can work. But it's a bad comparison for that point especially since you yourself didn't pinpoint which specific parts you were referring to as being minimalistic.
Doesn't matter if the ending of GITS was open ended. The storytelling throughout most of the movie was pretty upfront about giving you information, as per the examples I cited. You're the one that ignored that. Furthermore, the ending told you EXACTLY what happened when the major merged with the AI and even showed you the end result talking to Batou. What's vague about it? It leaves you to ponder questions, sure, but it does so much work to answer questions like basic character motivations and how its technology works beforehand, such that the questions it asks come at the conclusion of a master's thesis full of information, whereas I'm struggling get to the most basic information about the world and characters of Texhnolyze.
" He clearly did not even read my actual reply where I clearly mentioned most of the events doesn't really need to be outright shown to make u understand. "
I already answered that and now you keep reasserting this without actually explaining how we get from point A to point B. He was a fighter, yes; this doesn't mean that he was "used" and "thrown away" as a dog. We know he fought for a living and grew up without parents. That's it. This doesn't necessarily translate to animalistic behavior. He is called cattle by Onishi and he behaves like a dog but where's the connection between his environment and his dog-like behavior? Suffering and trauma can have negative effects on people but why this particular effect? Tons of people suffer from trauma so why aren't they like Ichise? Why aren't there more people like Ichise in the world of Texh? I'll put it this way. If Ichise had to survive as a kid in that type of environment, wouldn't it make more sense for him to be more social and be more controlled, because of how hard it is for a kid to survive in such a place? He needs all the help he can get and he would need to be at least somewhat intelligent to keep himself safe, rather than following instinct as if he was living in a forest.
He was animalistic even before he got his limbs cut off and he not only rejected his limbs but also attacked Doc. Either way, why would getting your limbs cut off make you more animalistic? Wouldn't you be more social and more intelligent because you need help? But instead he rejects the soup that the woman on the street gave him.
Oh by the way you got owned on the fact that Ichise trusted people more after he joined the Organo so quit acting so high and mighty.
I assumed you were talking about Ichise's initial trust issues because he trusted people MORE after he joined the Organo and attached himself to Ran and Onishi, but I guess I'm giving you too much credit here. I thought you would actually know basic plot details about a series you rated a 9.
"Trust issues" is the other guy's phrasing not mine. I would say Ichise has antisocial tendencies. What does seeing his dad get brutalized by people he doesn't know have to do with trusting others? Why does being a fighter for a living have to do with having antisocial tendencies or his animalistic behavior? I mean there were other people fighting against him, so what are they like?
See when you say something is minimalistic, that's fine, but that just means that they tell you a lot with very little but they still tell you something concrete. What Texhnolyze does is ask the viewer to make shit up to fill in the blanks. Bringing up GITS 1995 is crazy because are we talking about the same movie here? The movie where characters will go on long philosophical musings and the major addresses her identity questions directly during the diving scene? The one where the finale of the movie is the major talking about the nature of the AI and what it means to combine with the AI? And comparing this to texhnolyze where basic character motivations are hard to understand? With this kind of comprehension skill level, I don't even care about your Monster response because you evidently can't even recall your own beloved shows correctly. Not that I think you even have a counter.
I asked for an explanation because you started it by saying I got owned. If you're going to mock my reviews and mock my arguments, then yeah, me asking you to provide evidence against my points is fair game. But no, you're hitting and running away like a little bitch under the excuse of not having time.
Yes that's why his point of "e.g All the characters being "thinly written" like Ichise having no reason for being violent or you not understanding why Doc killed herself (and not understanding that Doc raped Ichise at the beginning of the series which in turn made Ichise even more on edge and insane)" is just wrong. Ichise didn't find out about his dad being framed until later in the show so that's not why he had trust issues so get owned. Ichise believed his dad was guilty and maybe that influenced his mindset but we don't know how, or how his environment made him become this way because everyone else was also in that environment and they didn't turn out the same way. It's thinly written.
You do have a reason for finding the review funny right? It shouldn't be that hard to articulate that, especially since you gave Texh a 9 and a Monster a 10, calling it a "brilliant masterpiece". It really takes that much effort to defend such a brilliant masterpiece against criticism so bad you find it funny? I may not even respond to your arguments depending on whether or not I've seen them before.
idk man shit is nuts, he probably does it for shits n giggles, i dont really care about Snob anymore anyways since there's no worth thinking about or talking about that no-lifer
lmao getting owned. No, I've done this dance with the exact same points with texh fans too many times to care to respond. Plus all his points except for the couple that are factually inaccurate (there is no evidence that Ichise became more wild as a result of being raped by doc and in fact he attacked her before she even did so) are already covered in my blog post. Talk about NPCs.
I'd like to see you try to debunk my points. If it's that laughable, it shouldn't take that much time right?
Curiously, in my case it's the other way around. I'm enjoying manga more than anime. Maybe it's because reading manga is generally more comfortable than watching a multi-chapter series.
i ask and the ones that do answer give me good insight into the other side of the argument. so do you have legitimate complaints about what I said?
it's also rich how you talk about NPCs when 90% of texh/monster fans just bandwagon onto the show and parrot the same things about those shows because it makes them feel smart.
