Story: 5 (The story has no depth whatsoever. But it's simplicity gives it a certain charm.)
Drama: 6 (The drama can pull you in at some points, but most of the time you feel nothing.)
Comedy: 8 (Comedy is it's forte. Tends to make me crack a few laughs.)
Plot: 4 (The plot is very superficial, as if taken out of a third rate RPG.)
Art: 7 (Sometimes it can be surprisingly good, but most of the times it's lacking. However, there is potential.)
Character: 5 (Very average and predictable protagonists.)
Overall: 5 (Overall, it's a very predictable manga, and at some points, ridiculous. However, the fact that it is so
...
simple, gives it that certain charm.)
The story has nothing in particular that can make you feel anything in particular. It's your typical hero that seeks revenge and justice. It has no depth, no mystery, nada. As for the drama... As already stated, i find it weak. This is probably due to the fast pace of the story. Usually, when you read mangas, they slowly pull you in and makes you feel sympathy towards the characters. They don't have much of that in Dohran, and thus, you feel little - to nothing, towards the characters, and that has it's effect on the drama. I do find this manga to be funny. It's comedy makes me laugh. Actually, i even laugh at the rather stupid(tho serious) things some of the characters say. The art, can be one of its strong points as well as weak points. The artist is apparently fully capable of drawing detailed and distinctive silhouettes and faces, but you can see how the fast pace of drawing to a deadline affects the average quality. Sometimes it's great, but sometimes the protagonist, for example, looks different in every square. But as time passes, the quality in the art should be reaching higher levels. The characters are nothing in particular. The protagonist, Dohran, is your typical naive, strong, determined and stupid troublemaker. He has no depth and no real weakness. However, that worst part is the plot. It is out-right ridiculous. It is so average that it goes below average. Dohran has to defeat the 12 commanders. IN ORDER. From weakest to strongest, to unseal the barriers so that he can reach the final commander. When i read that, i just laughed at how bad it was. As i said, as if taken out of a third-rate RPG. This really pulled down this series a lot. BUT... It still has it's charm. If it hadn't, i would've dropped it already.
