It's an anime I considered a hidden gem for the year 2015 in my opinion.

Though arguing about time resets any further by itself is a new league of its own. If you are going to include time paradoxes. I 'll just believe the author just want to express different scenario using suburu as a guinea pig of his experimentation of the story, to sum up, it when comes to reset. But he did achieve something but a matter of trial and error. By exploiting the story so-called universal mechanic. He did also use some exploits in this rule against Betelgeuse plans and Moby Dick. He still has some control, best examples are his suicide attempts, I understand dying by accident or being murdered is outside his control, but suicide to achieve a reset is another exploit Subure uses to "fix the story". A long as he experiences the actual scenario first hand from his opponents if you ever are given a chance to redo a certain thing in time then you control the outcome of your situation more common on games where if your know opponent strategy, counter plays as really effective especially opponents that more stronger than you. Thought to have the ability even a few second-time manipulations is already op. Remids me of King Crimson ability that you can know the outcome of the events for Suburu either him dying or the other person but the process to do so is unknown for Suburu and he needs to think actually counter it. But even those little information given, it still more than enough to change your faith in the future.



Shounen has cheap ways to prevail in conflict thought re-zero kinda like the type that plans ahead to exploit all opponent's plans. But I won't say its the first. Re zero is just like Higurashi in a sense where it aims to have a happy ending via time resets. Well, that how deus ex machina works. Creating a solution that is impossible to achieve unless some divine intervention or miracle by no means possible to do in technical means. This why suburu time reset is considered fixing the plot to have a decent ending and automatically saves at a point in time thus conditions are met. That's how I understand the plot mechanics or game mechanics of the show.


I don't see your point wrong in regards because it is also a possibility but you know it's hard to argue which story is true or consistent if the said story is rewritten in the process. Like how much I want to talk about Beatrice and Suburu relationship to be interesting but is that even matter anymore? if Suburu and Beatrice relationship never took part in the timeline that has the current save point. Just saying.

Because Re:Zero is by itself a Schrödinger's cat. The feeling that because of intertwining timelines. Characters in Re:Zero are theoretically in a sense, both dead and alive. A scary thing to think of when I sleep at night.
