10: A Masterpiece; the utmost echelon of fiction, not flawless by any means, but possessive of such triumph that its blemishes are rendered imponderable.
9: Phenomenal; a resounding triumph within its medium that masters or meaningfully innovates upon a fictional genre.
8: Very good/Great; a narrative that thoroughly succeeds in its efforts, yet could be improved through more consistency, innovation, depth, or complexity.
7: Good; a well put together narrative that succeeds in its efforts, yet contains either too many foibles or too few ascendant qualities.
6: Decent; somewhat entertaining or artistically admirable, but riddled with a large variety of faults that plague the narrative.
5: Lackluster; the definition of mediocrity, containing positive and negative aspects in equal measure.
