Because I did discover Anime for myself only mid 2023 I have the privilege of thousands of them waiting for me. That can also be a bit overwhelming, that's why I appreciate and Support MAL for what they are providing.
I have absolutely no rush with completing titles, but I still found myself using Episode 1 as the deciding factor if I wanna continue with a Show or not.

I am not really picky, but the first Episode does have to fulfill at least one of those Points:

Having a Character to really like or identify with.
Having a decent start of a Story which makes you wanna know more.
Having a good plot twist which makes you wonder.
Having a few good laughs.
Having a decent overall environment and graphics which does compensate for the rest.
Having a decent Harem with diversity, yeah I know :)

Even with those low requirements I dropped a decent amount of Animes after or even within Episode 1, but I did neither rate or list them.

What I dislike:
People who force themselves through something they do not enjoy just to trashtalk it in the end.
Trolls especially the sublime ones which try to get some much needed attention to make up for their IRL insufficiency.
Productions with content hidden after the outro/ET Previews or even important story related parts.

Live your life how you want it as long as you do not negatively impact someone else's by doing so.

My Anime ratings & Sub or Dub:
Ratings
I only do rate completed Shows, so naturally there will be no Ratings below a 4 (bad), because if something would deserve to be there I did drop it most likely already within or right after Episode 1.
10 is full story immersion, full enjoyment, full excitement, laughing my ass off, or similar and I will 100% rewatch.
9 is enjoyable, fulfilling expectations, having some brilliant things, but not quiet enough to be a 10 - will rewatch/relistening alongside doing something else.
8 was still good, enjoyable, funny, had a good time, would recommend but not rewatch.
7 had minor flaws, but did still provide a overall good experience, would not recommend.
6-5 had multiple minor or major flaws, had questionworthy major changes (character, story, relations, world aso.), but was overall still worth the time.
4 = Dropped = Same as 6-5 but unbearable to continue.
On Hold:I prefer watching Animes in 1 sitting, especially the "normal" 12-14 Episode ones. Sometimes I have to leave and if the Anime did not made me want to return asap it might have been placed on hold.

Sub or Dub?
English translations are sometimes really off, especially at some of the newer Animes.
Also there is almost in every single Anime that one Sub voice which does not fit the character at all.
I would go so far to say, that English translation is often so bad that it does get some Animes a lower average rating than deserved because it does take away from the overall flow and dynamic of it. (A really sad thing to realize)

If it comes down to only English being available it is for me 100% Sub over Dub and by now sometimes even waiting for my national language translation instead of going through the English ones.
