well, you pretty much nailed it with R2. it's certainly a depressing sunrise trainwreck... but like all trainwrecks, it's one you just can't look away from. it really is disgustingly enjoyable, especially considering how utterly vapid it is in every way. kudos for being brutally honest.
but trying to explain this to a userbase whom is composed of gaiaonline rejects, narutofan members, and yaoi fangirls is going to gain you a lot of fucking ire. if it hasn't already.
Well your review for cg r2 is good, you know youput the enjoyment at 9 and mark everything at whatever. for me, so farwatching r2 is alot mroe fun than season 1. about it not makignsense, well ifyou had the misfortune of seeing chihiro fansubs then thatcould explainit.
Biased review for R2 with pretty much every single line stolen from any place where you see a lot of bashing. I can tell you didn't even think it through at all. You just sound like you're whining because it's popular.
The whole review is easily dismissable regardless as you cannot claim a storyline makes no sense when it's right in the middle of one. I don't know why people even humour themselves that they can right a good review of a show that's half-finished, you or the people that just give all 10's and call it a day. When it's at the point where it's plotline is obviously going to be the most open and in need of closing some elements it's ridiculous to jump on it and call it incoherent. Wait until the shows frickin' over.
Nice 00 review. If you fancied the idea of the show presenting a 'grey' view, then I suggest you watch some other Gundam shows too considering most of them all present the 'war is the true enemy' theme and both sides fighting have their own justifications.
As for the character department, I feel the reason the characters weren't developed as thoroughly as say, Seed, was because Gundam 00 is taking things from a larger perspective. More focus on the overall plot than characters. Much like you said, the show presents a 'grey' area and if you develop one side too much without the other side, that grey area disappears to black and white (00 already suffers from this, actually). And if they try to bring significant development to both sides to maintain that grey area, the pace of the plot is slowed down, and a fast paced plot is what makes Gundam 00 such an exciting show.
Of course, most of the characters aren't developed fully yet as there's still season two but that's just my two cents on the lack of character development.
