Just seen your reviews of BokuAi and KimiAi. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one to think that BokuAi was the better experience by far! FWIW, I watched BokuAi first and I definitely think you watched these the right way around; KimiAi felt very bland and basic in comparison.

Tokyo Revengers is poorly written trash. NO ONE was expecting a badass chad from the MC. The reason everyone hates him is because's a bad character.

Its full of plot convenience, plot armor, and plot holes. Most fans are simply hyping it up because they're either 12 year olds who haven't watched many anime before, or they dont really care how good it is as long as the characters are yelling and shouting generic lines like "I'll never give up!" or "I'll save her!"

"I'll never give up! I'll save you!"

The dialogue in this anime is lackluster and doesn't require any thought or engagement. The characters will shout out emotional lines to get the 12 year old fans frothing at the mouths. Its ridiculous. The monologues are just empty lines said by the characters such as "Huh?" or "What's going on?" that dont add to the experience in any meaningful way.

The characters are trash. Every character is idiotic or braindead and are simply doing things to fit the plot. Baji literally stabs himself because the plot called for his death. Takemichi escapes a planned assassination attempt by going to the bathroom. Yes, a bathroom. To pee. That's how he survives a car crash that was carefully planned and executed by 2 killers who supposedly know what they're doing. This show is constantly disrespecting each and every one of the characters, and that's just a shame.

This is also a good thing i enjoyed about AnoHana, they did good with the character development and overcoming their own Trauma.

But what they did with the ghost girl story was really disappointing. The whole thing of her being around and not trying to come in contact with anyone. And the protagonist being to weird to explain it better. At Episode 10/11 she was even confused about why they didnt write in the book earlier. And I was like "... well I guess if she did the plot would be rushed.." - this is some really poor excuse for it. Remembers me about the ending of "Another"

What do you think?

As far as I know, she isn't. The manga "Oz the Reflection" explores her character more, but I find it very, very hard to believe that Suzaku wouldn't have gotten to know know all of the KotR; especially since it is clear that Bismarck highly respected Suzaku before he tried to kill the emperor. I think the writers figured that if they didn't focus on any of the side characters who have some of the most memorable designs in the series, almost no one would pay enough attention to remember who they were. And it largely worked! I just hope the new writers recognize Monica and Dorothea's cult following in the new content, because they and the rest of the Knights of the Round need to have closure for what Suzaku did to them.

I'm glad that we could come to an understanding. Hopefully Z of the Recapture will help me to like certain parts of Code Geass. As long as Monica turns out to be okay. The poor girl didn't deserve what Suzaku did to her. . . .

I guess I dislike the series for how wasted its potential is. I genuinely can't figure out why so many people like it but greatly wished it could have been better. So now I'm waiting for the new series in the franchise and hoping my favorite wasted characters are revived. Look up the members of the Knights of the Round and Valkyrie Squadron and your perspective might change a little.

And I admit I've been attacked by the Code Geass fandom for criticizing the series and specifically just liking the characters who were wasted while calling out the main characters' actions. That can only heighten one's distain for a particular series when a lot of its bad traits are directed toward you.

Again, I'm not trying to attack you, but I think it's important we look at the overall quality of our media to make sure it's truly good. And I'm still recovering from my last watchthrough for my recent reviews. I just hope the writers can do a good enough job to make everyone happy.

I found the main characters to be shallow, unlikable, and hypocritical, and nobody's motivation made any sense by the end, as the characters very personalities would shift if the writers needed it to happen. Not to mention Gino and Anya got no development but we were supposed to believe they were Suzaku's friends. The Knights of the Round were not expounded upon so as to not take any attention from Lelouch, who I couldn't sympathize with in the slightest. Conversely, if you look into the supplementary material, you will find that many of the Knights of the Round and even at least one of the Valkyrie Squadron were much better people than most of the main characters, but we initially weren't shown that so the main characters could be seen as "heroic" despite Kallen being racist and sadistic and Lelouch being completely fixated on revenge (and killing thousands of civilians by destroying a part of the colony before hypocritically saying that the Black Knights do not harm innocents) until his sudden personality change in season 2. Comparing 86 with Code Geass, I found it to be a much better told story with much better written characters. And yes, even the side characters in 86 are given proper screen time to care about. (They aren't just objects!) We shouldn't throw the term "masterpiece" around just because the ending was emotional when there was no reason to care for the protagonist in the first place, as he displays the characteristics of a psychopath and narcissist. The Code Geass fandom is the only one I actively call out because they have specifically latched on to Lelouch as the sole reason they like the show despite him only being compelling when he was going crazy before his abrupt personality shift. Just because a significant chunk of the anime fandom likes it for its popularity doesn't make it a masterpiece. If you pay careful attention while watching it again, you'll catch all of the plot holes and character inconsistencies.

I'm not trying to attack you, but I think that certain series' popularity shows that many people will only like a series specifically because it is popular. I'm glad that we both like 86, however I think that Code Geass is only popular and so highly praised by some people because it is expected of them to do so. I think that the content we consume and rate highly drastically affects the overall quality of new content that studios make, and I want to advocate that improving.
