Enjoyment is the only thing I rate the show for. But many things create enjoyment :3 From the art, through OST to plot and characters.
And even though it is indeed hard to compare anime from different genres, I can tell which show I enjoyed more, and that's what makes the ratings for me.

I had similar scores to yours until not long ago, but I found myself rating two shows with the same number, even if I liked one way more than the other. I also had very little stuff rated below 5. So I changed my rating system and I like the way it is now. It's just that people are used to the high numbers and will think I hated something I rate with 4-5, but for me it's just average show with nothing special. I liked most of the stuff I rate like this. It's just that I don't consider it good.
3 and below is bad already though. 1 is total garbage.

Yeah, we indeed do have a high compatibility. As for being brutal, I guess I just rate stuff in a different way. For me 'average' isn't 7 but somewhere around 4-5. 6 is already good anime for me.
