You see, I clearly stated that animated language is and must be different from that of written and drawn media. I don't mind at all if directors are creative and improve what is in the manga or follow a different path. Episode 23 is a good example of this: although it didn't follow exactly the original version, it was probably one of this season's bests, it was brilliant and it created a really good tension. That's perfectly okay. My problem with Bakuman 3 is that we had two excellent previous seasons. All of them took some freedoms and I never complaint about them and still consider them to be great.
Even without the manga in mind I regard Bakuman 3 as less interesting than the other seasons. The pace is even different. Did you really enjoy when Reversi anime was confirmed at the beginning of episode 22? It was nice and all, but it was so anticlimactic and it was exactly as the manga.
