And he said...
"One Piece is the most overrated piece of fiction I’ve ever read. It’s mostly about a roaming crew of do-gooder clichés that travel the high seas. Each character has a dream (which they will never achieve because this cash cow will never end) and of course a tragic backstory to go with it. One Piece is somehow popular while having the worst character designs in anime, includes countless scenes of characters sobbing like crybabies, and will drag on to the point no one will care anymore. Honestly, if you want a shonen that doesn’t insult your intelligence and make you feel like you’re reading something written by a smarter than average 10 year old, then don’t pick this up. "
The truth has been spoken! (:

Well that's a little disappointing. Maybe it will be one of those ones where they have another romantic prospect enter the plot to help him move on? Otherwise I don't see how a romance manga could progress with the female main dying so early on~ :3
Yea finding an MC like that in a romance manga is almost impossible, but I do have a conclusive yet somewhat niche rec for ya. It's strange but funny as hell!~ :D Onanie Master Kurosawa~ Don't even bother reading the synopsis, just start reading it. You'd never believe who the MC ends up with in the end~
Yep yep and I'd like to throw another rec out there, I haven't finished it yet so i don't know if it is conclusive or not but it's a pretty entertaining romcom thus far~ :D ^.^ Midori No Hibi!~~~~~~
True true after reading a few action-y types I'd probably say the battle manga is usually better but I'm sure there are exceptions~ :3
Indeed, convenience is key. That's very true, battery life is a constant struggle >.< Yes yes I guarantee you will not regret it!~ :D
The anime was decent but too short. I really wanted to see some romantic development with such a unique idea!~ :D
Indeed that seems to be the general consensus but I haven't read enough to say all that, though it is quite good so far, in a no-holds-barred sort of way (I completely agree. Its terrible that truly great manga are often shrouded by such mainstream things all the time sheerly because they have a greater following!) ~ xD
I generally use my trusty laptop which screen is roughly the size of a regular monitor's. Though I have an ipad aswell which proves to be very convenient. So if you're looking for something in the middle I'd go with one of those!~ :]
No worries man but I won't be of too much help on that front. But 2 things I can recommend is the light novel series of Spice & Wolf and maybe Nana To Kaoru. Though NTK is a tad fetish-y the romance aspect is quite deeply intertwined into the plot~ xD
Just picked up Berserk yesterday and am very much enjoying that right now! There is so much on my plan-to read list it is hard to choose what to pick up~ :D
I guess that is true, characters or hidden powers learned/discovered in the fillers are included in the main story so I guess that makes up for it. And yes Soi Fon is pretty awesome, though I'd have to say my favorite character has to be Ulquiorra~ xD
Great and yeah movies are also generally disappointing but the best I've seen so far definitely has to be Redline~ xD
Well it's quite simple. The first arc or two were fantastic and I flew threw 100+ episodes. The only thing that drags the series down A LOT are the fillers. Unless you're someone who can endure intense filler arcs (almost Naruto-esque) don't even bother with them. They fuck up the momentum at a disturbing level. Other than that the story is pretty good, typical for a shounen. All right I shall consider one of those for when I finish Lovely Complex, which I happen to be enjoying quite a bit~ :3
