That's fair to see, and I can see where you are coming from. While Death Note had L and Light battle head to head each and every turn while Moriarty rarely had that, I still found it enjoyable that they even attempted to have that battle in the first place. I know Sherlock was dancing in the palm of Moriarty's hand almost the entire anime, I was just sitting there with the mindset of, "what if he breaks away from the path laid before him?" And that's what made me enjoy that dynamic a lot. But you can think what you wish, for that is fine.

I didn’t watch “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni” so for me it seemed similar to Re:Zero
