Is your bio a copypasta? That is the funniest shit I've read in awhile.

Your Binchou-tan review genuinely confuses me; the show was clearly made as a slow-paced slice of life with cute girls that doesn't really need to have a story behind it, so why are you expecting so much from it? It already does a good job in what it's supposed to be; an anime about Binchou-tan's daily life. It doesn't have any substance because it doesn't need to be -- why did you even bother with it if you're not a fan of slow-paced slice of life moe shows in the first place? I know taste is subjective, and even I think that it's boring at times, but it definitely doesn't deserve a 1 compared to some of the other 1 stars you have.

Even as someone that enjoys moe enough to name my profile after it, your review on Clannad has every piece of legitimate and valuable criticism of it and Kanon that I could never quite put into words myself. I hope the mods stop giving you a hard time about it.

I decided not to watch Hachimitsu to Clover after I saw your review, hope I am on the right track..

Hey dude! I'm surprised that it's been so long since our last correspondence. This year has been flying by.

I wanted to say that I enjoyed your Dragon Half review! Definitely a classic anime! I've been slowly reading through the original manga and there are some pretty amusing moments beyond what was adapted in the OVA so you should totally check it out if you ever have the drive and means to do so.

And.... that's all I got. XD
I mean, American politics are still super dumb, but what else is new? Anyway, hope you're doing well, man! Have a good one!

Nice to see an old guard who knows how to write an entertaining review and who doesn't filter out all traces of their personality in some misguided attempt to seem objective. You should really consider adding a space in between your sentences though! :P

Yeah, based on the birthday on your profile, I'm a few months older than you. Although I didn't pay much attention to politics back when I was younger, this does look like the craziest time in politics during our lifetimes. It's just bonkers how polarized the stupid 2-Party regime is in the US. This crap really just needs to implode in on itself. I'd love to see a mad rush of independent representatives in Congress so that Rep, Dem, and Independents each have about 1/3 representation, forcing some real compromise and cooperation in legislation, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

But yeah, it's my first official day of Government Shutdown 2018! I still had to come into the office, though. Waiting for paperwork to be sent to my boss so I can sign it to say that I'm not working and then I can go home. =P

Well just remember that there are always people much worse off than you...

Thanks mate
pluvia33 Jan 17, 2018 2:31 PM
That sucks. At least you have decent coping mechanisms? Adulting is hard sometimes (most of the time). I really wasn't feeling like coming back to work. But hey, upper-government (congress and our glorious President Trump) is possibly going to be giving me a forced vacation with a government shutdown after Friday! That'd be interesting. =P

Aside from work and board game stuff I've mostly been doing nothing but watch anime. The 2018 Anime Watching Challenge has started and with my current living situation I've been watching anime more regularly than I have in the last 7 years or so. Good times.

Eh nothing much... Had the shittiest birthday ever... So my dad is gonna try to make it up to me with a re-birthday this weekend...

You?
pluvia33 Dec 27, 2017 7:12 AM
Hey dude! Hope you had a good Christmas and such. Mine was okay. I don't really have much in the way of family here locally, but I did have dinner with my roommate's family. I also ended up stuck in the emergency room with a friend for most of Christmas Eve and I'm kind of sick now. I slept most of the day yesterday so I feel a little better now and went ahead and went to work, but I probably should have just called in. Blah.

So I finished ERASED and liked it a lot! I thought it was kind of weird that the series has a reputation for having a "bad ending" but I personally wasn't really bothered by it. Yeah, it was kind of jarring, but I didn't mind so much. The character resolutions were satisfying enough that I didn't really need some amazing plot revelation. I tend to be more character-focused when watching anime instead of plot-focused; purely plot-focused shows usually bore the crap out of me.

Now that I'm finished with my Anime Watching Challenge I've been taking a bit of a break from watching anime and been trying to read some more manga, but it's been hard to keep that up with me being sick so I started playing an old PS1 game over the weekend called Legend of Legaia. It's been fun.

Anyway, hope you're doing well and such. Laters!

Well okay... I don't believe in escapism but my dad does own a weed testing lab so... I gotta role with it...

I have hypersensitivity so just the smell of weed makes me very sick...
Nyah_Chan Dec 24, 2017 8:35 AM
I don't get why I'd need weed... But okay...

Man, hope your job is able to become more bearable soon! My work has been pretty lax lately because our main system has been down. I'll have to catch up a lot when the system comes back up, though.

You say "watered down"; I say enhanced! XD Actually, I haven't gotten around to watching Shirobako yet, but I've heard good things and will probably watch it next year. I just hope that there's enough levity and interesting/fun characters so it doesn't get boring for me. And I do have to say, I'm six episodes into ERASED so far and I've been enjoying it a lot! I was a little worried that it might end up being boring like Another was for me, but I've been pleasantly surprised. Although the story is really serious, the characters still have a warmth to them; they feel interesting and real while the ones in Another just felt bland as all hell. It's definitely feeling like a good way to close my Anime Watching Challenge. :)

I've been everywhere but Europe and Asia... Like fucking places you can't even pronounce the names and people don't know where the fuck it is on a map, or even that it existed in general...
It’s time to ditch the text file.
