I'm DesuB. The swolest memer neckbeard there is. I like playing fighters (mostly Melee and UMvC3 though I have moved on to Infinite), and I also like anime (big shock). My only rules are respect your waifus, and don't be a baka gaijin ^_^. NOTE: The scores are based on personal enjoyment and not an objective rating.
Yep, I agree! Personally I like Digimon Tamers the "children's anime" and I put that in quotations because despite it's target age, it presents some really mature themes while still being fun for all ages. I haven't seen Princess Tutu myself, apparently it's got some elements in common with Madoka Magica as it's a "deconstruction" of magical girl anime.
Hmmm, I'll give some recommendations. Anything on my list I gave an 8 or more is something I think is worth checking out. Looking at your list, I'd recommend Black Lagoon, Chihayafuru, Detroit Metal City, Durarara, Fate/Zero, Gankutsuou, Kaiji, Hajime no Ippo and Rurouni Kenshin. Most of these are 9's I have that you haven't seen yet, hopefully you find something cool from this bunch.
Tri's was part of the reason. I was planning a rewatch of Tamers for a really long time, it was my favourite season of Digimon so I'm on the same boat as you :P Even now I think it stands the test of time. It's sorta like the Evangelion or Madoka of Digimon because it deconstructs many tropes such as Takato being the anti-Tai (Tai's brave, Takato is... not so brave xD). There's small details here and there that definitely give it a lot to think about. Plus it does get really dark from what I remember. All in all, good stuff!
Awesome favorites you got there. Among your top five, I've considered four of them among my top 30. I haven't seen Serial Experiments Lain yet. How is it?

layered commentary of identity and technology. It's written by
Chiaki J. Konaka; the same guy behind Texhnolyze, so you know
your in for a thinking anime.

(also the ratio of tens in your completed anime section is
ridiculously high)
Also the only thing that's ever getting a 10 from me is a personal favorite
