При первом просмотре не сказать, чтобы сильно зашло, но недавно пересмотрел и понравилось, хоть и не без недостатков. Даже купил мангач, благо он у нас издавался

It is only 13 episodes and 1 OVA. Have you watched it before? There are plenty of legit reasons someone might dislike it, but I feel its reputation is now worst than it actually deserves.

Elfen Lied basically has many flaws, but resonates for me as a work that is Wabisabi or "perfectly un-perfect". It tackles nature vs. nurture, the limits of love and forgiveness, and whether any crime can be redeemed. It gives us morally grey and complex characters like Lucy and Kurama, who do truly terrible things but remain sympathetic. Does it have some pointless gore and nudity that didn't add symbolic or thematic weight? Certainly. Is the narrative a bit rushed and constrained by a 13 episode run time? Yep. Does it use old school melodrama tropes that stopped being used seriously in storytelling by the 1950s? Yep. Despite all of this, it remains my all time favorite, even if there are plenty of better executed anime. It's like X-men meets Crime and Punishment meets batshit insanity. No matter how hated it is here on MAL, let alone on /a/, I will never apologize for Elfen Lied.

1. Yes, I don't like Nichijou and wrote a silly review of it. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I think you took it a little too seriously buddy.

2. Yes, I used the phrase "Commedia dell-'arte". I'm really not too pretentious of a reviewer though. Not nearly as bad as Digibro or Thatanimesnob.

3. Yes, I like Elfen Lied.

4. Sometimes I watch dubs and sometimes I watch subs. I mostly watch English dubs for old, schlock anime where they add comedic value. There is NO point in watching Mad Bull 34 or Baki the Grappler or Angel Cop in the original Japanese. People watch those for the hilarious dubs.
