About the time skip in SAO Alicization, Zakaria arc (2 Years time skip in anime adaptation) do happen in LN and it is one of those parts where A-1 skipped from the novel... but yeah, it is a rush adaptation and some parts have been swapped with A-1 original scene. I feel disappointed with the anime adaptation
I totally agree with your point regarding the lack of inner monologue in Yakusoku No Neverland. Even without reading the manga to compare, I could feel something's off and you wrapped it up perfectly.
Stumbing across your profile, even tho I understand your negativity towards these "edgy, socially awkward loners", I think you kinda missed the point of their existence and importance as characters. Let's take Hachiman for example. His behaviour may seem like a fully chosen solitude in which he conciously avoids interactions with other people but all of this is just a coping mechanism in order to feel better about himself. I also have social anxiety and at some point I began to convince myself that I don't need anyone. I was purposely trying to be alone despite the fact I was given a pretty caring group of friends. Whenever I failed at interacting with them I would blame myself for that so one day I thought "why shouldn't I just give up?" I think this is exactly what Hachiman is doing - he is afraid of being rejected once again so he decides to stop trying. While in fact he is hurting all the time but is too ANXIOUS to do anything about it. So when he finally gets the chance to make some kind of friendship, despite his previously obtained ideals, he still has hope that he finally won't feel lonely, thus he tries to talk to those girls.
While Sakuta has actually quite little to do with being socially awkward. His withdrawal from "mainstream activities" has nothing to do with being scared of rejection, nor any trauma concenring his own well-being. He genuinly doesn't care. He's absolutely ok with having only a couple of friends and occasionally talking to them (maybe even more frequently than occasionally). Sure his sister was a victim of bullying and even though it may have influenced his persona, it didn't make him anxious in any way.
I hope I didn't butcher understanding your opinions and didn't mess anything up lol.
Nice review on Yakusoku no Neverland, I think it still not necessarily a bad show but really disappointing. Such a shame cuz it had so much potential to be great.
"Alabasta introduces new casts like Nico Robin, Crocodile (a key character later on with relation to ivankov and white beard, many things have not been revealed about him), introduces one of kingdom of the original 20 kingdoms that is an important concept later on in world summit arc, introduces the historical text."
Yeah Nico Robin is important to the story, but the the actual conflict in the arc has nothing to do with anything. It doesn't matter if Alabasta was one of the original kingdoms, that doesn't change the fact that the arc was irrelevant to any of the strawhats goals.
"Skypiea further introduces the historical text and foreshadow the change of ship "going merry" and the introduction of franky in the following arc. "
Once again you're only mentioning the less relevant parts of the arc. I'm saying that the major conflict in these arcs have nothing to do with the story. The entire conflict with Enel and him destroying Skypiea was pretty much filler. Also this historical text you speak of hasn't had any impact on the story and it probably wont ever be mentioned again. There was no foreshadowing for the ships change as far as I remember. There was also no introduction of Franky, what the fuck are you talking about?
"Drum Kingdom introduces Chopper and is later revealed to be destroyed by black beard, foreshadowing the conflict between Ace and Black Beard. "
Once again for the third time you're taking minor things to try to explain why it isn't filler. You're completely disregarding the fact that the central conflict of the arc is filler! What does Wapol have to do with the main storyline? What does ANY conflict in this arc have to do with the main story line? The only thing we got out of this arc was that blackbeard destroyed the Island and Ace soon followed after him. Chopper was just a random character that came out of nowhere that just happened to join the crew. He had a shitty introduction and everything. I don't think Chopper as a character
"Do you see how these arcs are closely related and contribute to the main plot? I suppose you don't."
Yeah because Wapol and Enel have such a big impact on the story!
At least Naruto and Boku no Hero has fights that are won through strategy. In One Piece, there are rarely any fights that are won due to strategy (I actuall don't think ther is one). Every single fight Luffy gets into it's just him beating the enemy because he's apparently more durable than them for some reason. For example, Luffy vs Lucci and Luffy vs Katakuri. He straight up won both of these fights by asspulls. He just happens to be more durable than Lucci for no apparent reason. He tanks like hundreds of blows and he just screams a nakama powerup to win a fight. His fight with Katakuri was almost the same shit. Oda uses a plot device just to handicap Katakuri, Luffy then beats him because of an asspull. Luffy also tanks like thousands of punches and then beats him because of an asspull. Also, why does it matter if other Shounen do this? Are you telling me that just because other Shounen do this that it's perfectly ok if One Piece does it? Literally all of the other Shounen you've mentioned are fucking trash just like One Piss.
"Some of the crew members did not receive much development after their introduction because there are just too many characters in onepiece. however, giving its character a 0 out of 10 makes your review a complete joke, it would be more acceptable if you give 5/6 based on your reasoning."
My rating of 0/10 was mainly just for post time skip One Piss. Pre timeskip I would give the characters a 6 or 7 out of 10. In post timeskip literally all of the characters are lame besides Zoro. Robin is in the background the whole arc, Sanji is an awful character if you've seen Whole Cake Island. Chopper and Brook are absolutely useless characters 90% of the post timeskip. That's why I gave it a 0/10, because they just went downhill.
I gave One Piss a 1 becuase there's nothing good it about now. NOTHING. My rating is mainly based on post timeskip, and that's where One Piss goes downhill.
Considering they were consistently putting out an episode a week for over a decade, they did a great job at making the show look decent most of the time. The big fights were always great.
You're wrong about Naruto. It still looks good. The animation is very good in the important fights and the character design still holds up. Most current shows look worse than Naruto does.
