Hey bro, just noticed that we were used to being quite closed back in 2015,
Idk what happened that made us stop chatting with each other,
But honestly, I hope you're fine and well during this difficult time :)
Eva is just.. way too much to review, for me. I'd end up writing a Cruel Angel's Thesis on it, haha. It would be ridiculously long and in depth and no one would ever read it. I like to discuss it, but I'll just keep most of my thoughts in my mind, rather than on paper. The first two movies are just a shortened version of the TV show combined with End of Evangelion. Eva 3.0 continues the story in a new way. It's pretty polarizing among fans, but I liked it just fine. SO it's both an alt version and a shiny new version of the same thing.
HF is supposed to be three movies, yes. Various web pages say it's coming out October 14th, so i'm not sure... it may take longer to get subs, but this one will be direct to video, without a doubt. Based on our anime in common, I'd recommend the Mardock Scramble movies, Ghost in the Shell SAC 2nd and SSS, and the madoka magica movie. It also says you haven't seen Code Geass R2?
No, never. Usually I just get silence from them, not even the cookie cutter response of "sorry, we went with another more qualified candidate". I get a few of those, but by and large I get nothing at all. I've had several high level professionals look at my resume and tell me it's basically as good as it can get for someone with noe xperience, like I've done a lot of targeting for the jobs I want... but we'll see. COol- good to hear that you're doing well. How much longer do you have in it?
I also needed to review something that wasn't Keijo. I couldn't let that be my last piece, what a terrible thing to go out on!
No real interest in 95% of the rest of the stuff on my list. I might watch the FSN heaven's feel movies when they come out, and I'll watch Eva 4.0 when it comes out too, but the rest of it I don't think I'll ever get to. I've been watching game of thrones- it's been a good distraction.
Yeah. Going on 3 straight months of job searching without anything even remotely close to an offer. I don't know how much of it is a me problem and how much of it is a "nobody actually wants to hire" problem, but the fact remains that I'm jobless and penniless, and extremely unhappy. I have to get out of here. Having to come back home and live with my parents has been suffocating to say the least.
Nah, I just got really tired of anime. I haven't watched anything except the Eva movies and Cowboy Bebop since then, and don't have any real plans to watch anything else. Cowboy Bebop was about the last real classic I had to mark off my list, and I thought it would be a good one to go out on, you know?
I haven't moved unfortunately, haha. Need a job first!
Thanks. I guess I finally made back all those votes that the mods flushed with my one punch man review, and then some. Oh Well. I'm almost at 110 reviews, so maybe I'll stop there... Forever haha.
I don't think so. If you want to broaden your skill set, why not do something else but still in the business realm?
I was thinking that going for another bachelors was kind of a waste of time since you've already got one haha. Here you can basically do any kind of masters program (if you're accepted) once you've got a bachelors. Just gotta kick down the door. You're pursuing a masters in accounting just like your bachelors was in accounting. Makes sense.
I applied for some more joererbs, but don't know if I'm going to hear anything. What is life? A struggle I guess.
I don't know what I want to do tbh. I'll cross that bridge when I get there lol.
Graduating with honors doesn't mean a whole lot really, but you've heard "cum laude" "magna cum laude" "summa cum laude"? They're latin phrases for with praise/great/highest. It's based on your grades. If you're above a 3.0 GPA (B average), then you're the first one. 3.5 is magna, 4.0 (A average, basically impossible at my school) is summa. You get a funky tassel and stuff. They write it on your degree.
It's both. I'm taking summer classes to get ahead/catch up. Both classes I'm taking I need for my degree- one major class, and one mop up literature class. I'm also trying to find a job, like I said. My first class will be over in two.5 weeks, so I'll have a little more time as well.
You're going for a second degree? What in?
Oh so you're Lil' Stiny huh? YOu fetch the coffee and danishes? Paper shuffling and copy making? Sounds like my kind of jeorerb lol
I do have more friends, but they're not here because it's summer. They all left for home. It's unbelievably dead around here. More important to have good grades this semester than to get smacked every week :P. I'm trying to graduate with honors... and I've come this far bringing my GPA back, it's a literal miracle. You need to watch Breaking Bad -> Better Call Saul
Nope, not done with school actually. Taking summer courses and going straight through into next year. Hopefully I don't get burnt out on it.
I envy you, friend, with your job and all. Apparently I'm unhireable, because I've applied a zillion places and had a handful of interviews and it's always the same thing... "looking for full time" or whatever. Well why did you even bring me in for an interview if you knew you were looking for full time? My mom says I shouldn't keep count of all the places that turn me down, but I can't help it. It's just frustrating.
I haven't seen Casablanca, no. Not really interested in it tbh. I like Hitchcock and Wilder movies mostly.
Lately I've not been doing a whole lot. Regressing socially because I live alone with no roommate and barely get out except to go to class I guess. Fallout 4? Drinking alone, yeah with nobody else? :P
Maybe you should do a marathon when you're feeling it and watch the two movies instead of the tv series, then watch the third one. I did that with Evangelion, and it worked really well. The third MAdoka movie is the sequel- and yes, I really liked it. The implications it has on the universe are kind of like fridge horror to me. It's a lot cooler in retrospect, imo.
Are you depressive? Cheer up, you're finishing school dawg. You could be me and be stuck for another year while your friends graduate.
I watch a lot of classic movies- I've been watching more and more from the 30s-60s lately... and they're some of the best, truly. I have to recommend
20s: Metropolis Restored, FANTASTIC movie
30s: Gone With the Wind or Wiz of Oz, but you've probs seen them
40s: Citizen Kane
50s: 12 Angry Men, Rear Window (the beautiful Grace Kelly in this), and Sunset Boulevard
60s: James Bond everything, Dr. Strangelove
YOU DON'T TRY, YOU DO! Code Geass is not to be ignored... this is must watch animu :P I can't say that there's one specific spot where the action really gets started, but for me, I was pretty into it by episode 6 or 7, and there's a nice even 50 glorious episodes too.
Did you never watch the Madoka Magica sequel movie? You should watch it.
I guess you don't know, but I actually watch a lot more movies than I do anime. A lot of the time, I enjoy movies far more than anime too. Lately I've been on a classics kick, watching old stuff. I reviewed Sunset Boulevard.
Feel free to judge my movie taste :P
Yeah, Code Geass is a great anime, if only because it's so anime and so over the top, but addicting. UBW I did like a lot, because it corrected almost all the issues I had with FSN as a sequel. The end of it was really good too. Endings are so easy to screw up, but they handled it perfectly imo. Doesn't hurt that it's also a beautiful show.
When are YOU going to watch Code Geass, anyway?
I have seen them twice, but I wouldn't object to going again, especially as cheap as $25, you know? I just can't get over the hubris of the venue for trying to charge half the ticket in fees... that's a great way to go out of business. Just sell more of your $9 beers... everyone in there gets two a piece, there's your $13, dips.
Also, I wrote a new review... but it's not for animu D:
To be fair, Mirai Nikki is actually my highest rated of the 3. I'm in full disgusting casual mode right now. Any ideas for popular shows that are generally considered to be crap? Asterisk war maybe haha.
I passed on the chance to see Steel Panther again next month. It was going to cost$75 for my brother and I to go. The tickets were $25, which I would gladly pay, but the venue tacked on this $13 charge on each ticket as a venue fee, which is totally BS. if it was maybe 1-5 dollars, okay, but more than half the ticket in fees?? They can stick that up their ass with a picture of a giraffe.

I'm back, temporarily. I couldn't go out on a review of flippin keijo, for goodness' sake. Cowboy Bebop is probably my swan song, tho

Yes, almost done. 3 weeks
