Anime sucks and my list doesn't reflect that. I started this when I was younger and consumed a lot of garbage. My taste has drastically changed but I won't go back to rewatch the animes to re-rate them. Most of the 6≥ deserve a much lower score.
Anime is also widely degenerate and finding anime without degeneracy is getting harder and harder with the current industry. Anyone over 17 still watching SoL's with 3000-year-old lolis or romcoms sexualizing depictions of high schoolers needs to reevaluate their life and morals.
This industry is in the toilet lol. I don't think more than 10 animes have been released within the last 2 to 3 years that are even worth starting. And after looking through this year's seasonals so far... it's not looking good. Anime peaked in the late 90s to mid-2000s with some good shows sprinkled about in the 2010s. This decade has been mostly shit. Just by looking at the cover art for recent shows, it's easy to tell how bland and homogenous anime has become. When's the next psychological thriller anime gonna release :(
That isn't just a fucking game anime like BTOOOM or Darwin's Game. There's enough of those.
Anime is an amazing medium for storytelling and it's wasted on fucking weeb bait.
Akane isn't a favorite character in the typical sense. I hate her. I genuinely hate her. I hate what she stands for. I hate her choices and I hate what she becomes. And the fact the creator can move me to feel real hate for a fictional character is a feat worthy of the favorite button.
