I got into anime a few years ago. My interests are broad but I tend to like anime with a mature/dark tone. Originality is always a plus as long as the anime still makes sense. I used to binge-watch entire series but work makes that tough these days. I try to keep a trickle of anime flowing though.
Reviews are fun to write and I try to keep them thoughtful and humorous. I welcome any feedback.
10=Perfection (Haven't found an example yet)
9=Excellent, with only minor flaws and/or overwhelming redeeming qualities; high re-watch potential. These animes are the full package.
8=Very good but demoted due to slow parts or a bad arc. I may/may not want to re-watch it but I would recommend it to a friend.
7= Watchable but contains flaws serious enough to significantly detract from the overall enjoyment. Probably the most flexible category. Re-watch value is usually restricted to cool scenes or specific episodes.
6=Highly mediocre or I strongly disliked it for reasons others may not share.
5 and below = I don't often waste my time finishing (let alone reviewing) really shitty anime. I'll review a <6 if it's a terrible sequel (Psycho Pass 2), if it's an over-hyped shitfest (Sword Art Online), or if I get tricked into it (Itazura Na Kiss).

And you are right that the reset mechanic should have limits. If it had limits and a smart strategic MC, this could have been epic. I know Lelouch given a similar power with limitations would have been a fantastic MC.
Even more mind boggling to me are the people telling me this is a deconstruction of isekai. I'd say isekai was properly deconstructed by Magic Knight Rayearth long before isekai as a subgenre of anime got popular... lol.
I love your Itazura na kiss review. Thank you for putting into words my exact feelings towards this show and its terrible characters. How can anyone call it a wholesome and cute romance anime is beyond me.
I actually purposely didn't read any of the other reviews before writing my own, and it's uncanny how similar our thoughts on the show were. Kotoko and Irie really are the worst.
Also from what your profile description reads i'd like to recommend
Ergo Proxy a very nice sci-fi show with some heavy themes about A.I.
Haibane Renmei makes you stop and think about life.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni can go either way with people some think it's very edgy for the sake of it but i like it and i think you'll like it 2 it's full of mindfuck moments and you really have 2 put attention to detail to get whats going on.
Hope you find something interesting there.
