Leo from South Boston now live in Fitchburg MA with my younger brothers. Typical nerd, I like scifi, fantasy and zombies and run on sentences. I hate hordies, helpless protagonists, and when the character(s) I like the most get killed off. I'm creative and have a good sense of humor. I roll Alliance mage and Ferengi in star trek cards. I am also a brony. I love cartoons in general, Adventure Time, Avatar, and Star Wars the Clone Wars are a few of my current favorites. Also most stuff by DC and Marvel. Live action-wise I like just about anything with Star in the title and most of the Whedon-verse. I'm a big fan of Walking Dead, Falling Skies, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Sons of Anarchy.
I really really love anime. I had watched the Dragon Ball Z series with my friends religiously as they were released on VHS each week when I was in high school but it wasn't until May 2008 I became a heavy user. I am a completely self taught fan-boy, who learned about the varying quality of fan-sub groups and the difference in video formats all on my own. I can easily binge on an entire series in one sitting. I have two three terabyte external hard drives devoted to archiving series.
I super enjoy being able to identify animes in AMVs or cosplay. I am especially proud of my accuracy in recognizing a voice actor just from the sound of their voice, especially in bit roles not easily found in data bases. Also catching references to other anime in anime. I will happily devour any genre but my hierarchy of choosing goes voice talent, art, sound track, then plot. I put sound track in there before plot only because I have given up on older shows with annoying keyboard driven sound tracks. I know it limits what I can watch before 2000 but my ears just can't do it. Once I discover I follow a rule I usually end up breaking it.
I still consider myself somewhat a novice since the bulk of what I have seen has aired 2004 and on. I am an anime only type. I also lack knowledge of the early golden days of anime. Even though I understand many great shows have come from manga and am a hypocrite because I say that books are greater than or equal to the movies based on them all the time. I will never read a manga and wish there was a way to hide it on the site.
