I've found myself becoming really cynical towards anime/manga the older I got. It's really hard to enjoy it when you can't ignore the flaws and generic elements in a series... Right now, I think I dislike more things than I enjoy in anime/manga.
Garou pretty much explaining where i'm coming from...
Things I hate in manga/anime:
1) When there is excessive use of main character plot amour.
2) When the villains in their base form are clearly stronger than the main characters but whenever they transform into their strongest form, that's when the main character is able to beat them.
3) When characters dickride another character who hates their guts. TAKE THE HINT!
4) When villains kill their own henchmen or someone loyal to them for no real reason.
5) When villains get the chance to kill the main characters but don't do it because of some dumb reason (plot).
6) That generic Japanese short guy complex where the leader or strongest of a group is the shortest and cockiest person.
7) When villains give a really dumb reason for doing the things they do.
8) The power of friendship being the author's go-to reason for making a character pull power out their ass.
9) Unnecessarily drawn out and overhyped series with way too much generic repetitiveness.
10) Entrusting the fate of the world to a kid.
