Hello! I'm one of the older fans around here. I first discovered anime and manga as a teen, but then life happened, and I mostly fell out of touch with both for ages. Over the past few years, I’ve been diving back into series old and new.
My tastes are super eclectic, and I can enjoy a popcorn title just as much as a cerebral story. Character-driven narratives are generally preferred to those that are plot-driven, and unique art styles or stories with unexpected twists are loved.
I feel old for the MAL crowd and am mostly using the site for tracking purposes, but I'm happy to receive recommendations or chat if you wander this way.

I've decided to stop rating things, for the most part. Series like the Soul Eater anime or The Promised Neverland manga, which are a mix of excellence and disappointment, leave me too conflicted.
I score favorites (those rated 8 or more) to support their position in the ranks, and I'll mark those I really disliked (4 or less) to help guide me (or passerby) with future watches. Anything I watched to completion but left unrated likely fell in the ok/average/good category. Series I want to rate as a 7.5 (looking at you, Ranking of Kings) will be rounded up.

So far, I managed to get through some messy furigana over a Silent Möbius page after reading a dictionary from Dorley Kindersley. I also collect flashcards for kanji and for expanding my vocabulary. Flashcards are definitely the type of cards that I can collect, unlike that proxy battle stuff or Pokémon.
Hopefully, I'll be able to know all 1,945 Chinese characters or complete jōyō kanji (my proxy sensei told me about the history of nihongo way better than Wikipedia) by the time I get to Silent Möbius QD.
Ah yes! I've known Maaya and Kenichi as far back as 2005. Some time before Advent Children's western release.
I never played the Japanese Kingdom Hearts, but I can tell that she did a great job as Aeris. Princess Terria was definitely one of the first game characters that she voiced and it's been ages since I last played Tail Concerto. So yes, both Maaya and Kenichi are entertaining together.
As we can see, she did Stella from Cowboy Bebop or the blind Venusian girl when she was 18. Definitely a child prodigy among a business made up of middle-aged people on average.
I found out later in life that The Simpsons cast were made up of old people.
There's this RAW manga that I want to read with messy overall furigana.
I believe that learning Japanese can help people earn PhDs also.
By the way, I love Maaya Sakamoto. She and her husband (my tomboyish friend has the same birthday as him) may reprise their roles in a future Gundam SEED movie.
There are some pretty mediocre series on my list that got a 10 from 14yrs old me xD
Nah. You'd be surprised about that. Changing my profile layout is basically a hobby of mine xD
It's just a drawing by an artist by the name of Loputyn.
