And yeah, I wouldn't have ended up watching Macross 7 either if it hadn't been recommended to me. I'm glad I did, though. I discovered one of my favorite bands and it's just such a fun show with really cool characters.
Just doing my duty to let others listen to Basara's song.
Probably because she sees through Basara. He may seem like a bit of a dick, yeah, but it's actually quite the opposite; he's a really caring and loving guy who can only express himself through his music. You can see this thoughout the series, but it becomes really obvious when he does songs like Submarine Street and Remember 16.
Unless you mean his only love in music and he doesn't care for women in which case I agree. He's too busy becoming #1 macross 7 band to care for that
Yeah Planet Dance is probably the worst FB song, it's a shame it gets overplayed. I actually love FB's music though, I listen to it all the time. It's one of my favorite bands, anime or not.
Yeah the beginning of Macross 7 is a bit slow, but I love the characters so much that I don't really mind. Basara is just the fucking coolest, but I also really like Mylene and Gamlin. I actually like the three of them enough that I don't mind the love triangle. It's not really intrusive to the plot, and I can see Mylene happy with either of them.
Yeah Hearts is great. Lots of people on Tales whine about the battle system being broken but I dunno if you spam the game's few broken moves over and over you're kinda asking for that.
And yeah makes sense. R;N seems pretty good so far but who knows. I hear reaction to the VN was generally positive at least.
lol I also have Xillia 2 coming up and am just trying to pass the time. Also ToH is a great game so do enjoy.
Honestly Macross 7 is probably most enjoyable if you watch it while also doing other things instead of marathoning it; it's a great show with awesome music and the coolest protagonist ever, but it is rather episodic and a bit repetitive. Basically I would recommend just pacing yourself for the best results.
If you watch Macross: Do You Remember Love? before watching 7 it might enhance your enjoyment a bit. It's just one movie and it's rather good. I don't really like Frontier TV either(though I did like the movies) and I only really enjoyed Plus for the animation and unintentional hilarity while I absolutely love 7 and enjoyed DYRL a lot so I'm just giving a recommendation as someone in a similar boat.
Also weird. Surprisingly enough this is the first season where I'm actually watching a lot of anime, though it's really just Psycho Pass and Robotics;Notes I'm huge on. I'm surprised you're not watching Robotics;Notes, though! I noticed Okabe in your favorite characters and supposedly R;N actually ties into C;H and S;G as opposed to S;G to C;H which were rather independent of each other.
Macross plus is kinda funny because its about 2 hours of man children arguing with each other. Also 7 doesn't have much of a love triangle; Basaras only love is music.
Yeah, the PTSD part is just one arc in Alternative and yeah it's kinda depressing. There's a lot of wacky parts besides that though and it's super hot blooded.
turn a is like the only gundam series I've yet to see that's not UC, so ill probably check it out before long
oooh. That makes sense. Yeah, I didn't really get Macross at first either, but I randomly got into 7 and went back to the rest and liked it a lot. I actually found Plus really boring the first time I watched it, which is funny because everyone I know jizzes on that OVA.
Also Muv-Luv isn't too bad. It has it's moments of extreme depression, but the entire series is laced with humor and WACKY moments. The main character is also initally a huge mecha/video game otaku who is a gigantic asshole to almost every girl he meets so there's that too. Also lots of JAM PROJECT.
I loved Gundam X. It was sorta like Eureka Seven before Eureka Seven(which is my favorite anime) but with no aliens. I also gotta watch Turn A, been planning to forever but never got around to it.

Second worst song in the show. Not sure if you've gotten to the worst yet.

i see you've watched quite a bit now

And yeah, I'm almost done with Votoms. Will probably finish it later today. Then it's onto all of those OVAs and whatnot.

...then again after the whole JAMIL NEATE thing.
But seeing that you're knowledgable about macross 7 music finally pushed me over the edge, even though I see you haven't watched that. ='(
But yeah you seem to have ridiculiously good taste in anime. GOTTA WATCH SOME MACROSS 7 though
(and maybe read muvluv because i recommend that to everyone who likes mecha)
However, even without knowing nearly half of the stuff I still enjoyed everything :3
