About My Score System
Keep in mind that how I rate anime is not entirely objective. I try to be more or less realistic, and my tag system helps me show some opinions that influence the scores. Also, I have to say that my grading system has changed over the years, which means that some series I rated back then would likely have a different score now.
I try to be accurate with the labels of the scores used by MAL. That means when I rate an anime with a 7, it is truly good, and when I give a 6, it is because it’s fine. For me, 6 or 7 are good scores; if I rate an anime with that score, it’s because I sincerely thought it was good (or fine).
I tend to watch shows that are appealing to me, plus I generally like anime, which is why good scores are predominant on my MAL. Nevertheless, I have to distinguish between bad, good, and great anime, and that’s one of the main tasks of my scoring system.
I don’t usually rate shows I saw during my childhood, music videos, some specials, or recaps, which is why you won’t see a score for some of them. Also, there was a time when I stopped rating anime, so I’m doing some rewatches and thinking about which scores I should assign to those shows.
On-Hold / Dropped / Plan to Watch
I’ve already seen a lot of the anime on my On-Hold list, but I’m gradually adding them. If an anime is on the On-Hold list, it’s either because I’ve already watched it or I plan to do so sooner rather than later. I don’t plan to watch any of the anime on my Dropped list in the short term, but sometimes I feel like watching one for whatever reason. I will be watching and adding anime from my Plan to Watch list gradually.
