And once again ignore the lateness of this reply, I actually wrote a gigantic comment about a week ago and lost it and I've been trying to find the motivation to redo it since.
I can only hope you've at least started 2 by now, it's my second favourite (first being 3). I honestly haven't touched 5 since I finished it (about 13th of September). I read a lot of discussions over it and discussed it a lot with my friends, and the conclusion I game to is that it's a good game, but a bad Metal Gear Solid game. Its basic control scheme is easily the best of the series and the level of freedom you're given is unprecedented, but it just doesn't have the charm of the previous games. It has no memorable/fun boss fights (save for one at the start), most of the characters are really dull, they have no flair to their personalities. It makes very little sense, especially if you take someone like Ocelot, who we've seen before this game (in 3) and after it (in 1 and 2), and he just somehow has almost no personality? My friend and I couldn't even tell the difference between Ocelot, Kaz and Snake's voices, they sound so similar. The story is drastically cut down (it has half the amount of cutscenes of 4 whilst being 3x longer) and what's there isn't really interesting (imo). The main antagonist was also a letdown, his motives make no sense and he was just an awful villain. I could go on picking at stuff for a long time, but it just has a lot of problems.
Added to that, I only call it a 'good game' because it feels just like a better version of the recent Farcry games. Every main mission is the same (either rescue someone, blow some vehicles up or kill some people), and then later on in the game, they literally start adding more main missions that are just 'Extreme' versions of missions you've already done. When you combine that with the lazy story it makes for a really dissatisfying experience, but I can't say that I hated the game because I did play 60 hours of it and finish it, and I definitely enjoyed a lot of the gameplay.
Let's just ignore my super, super late reply sorry ^^.
I can understand that view really easily actually. Hell, even when I first read CA I didn't like it most of the way through. I only really began to love it after a lot of reflection on it after I'd FINISHED the series, which was a new thing for me. I think if I hadn't read the source first I'd also feel the same way about the anime, and even my friend commented while we were watching that he felt Gon's actions after Kite's death felt a bit 'forced'. I'm glad you enjoyed the show overall, it's a series that deserves a lot of praise!
Yeah the first FSN series had it in a fan translation I think and everyone thought it was hilarious XD Sorry for the late reply, I didn't have access to my computer over the week :/
Yeah that's definitely right the original was pretty awful, ever heard the line 'people die when they are killed'? That's original FSN ;)
UBW was animated by ufotable as well, so it looks amazing!
Thanks for the friend request, you're a friend of Tical I see :)
I can't help but notice you're a fan of Fate/Zero, so am I! Any plans to watch the new Fate/Stay Night adaptation?
Hey, sorry for taking such a long time to respond! I was really caught up with the release of Metal Gear Solid 5 and a bunch of other things, I meant to respond to you a long time ago. I hadn't expected you to finish the series in this time though, that's crazy.
I take it from some of the other comments on this page that you didn't like Kite very much? It was a bit better done in the manga since Kite showed up in the first chapter and was in the back of your mind the whole series rather than just randomly being there for the start of CA. The show didn't do a great job establishing that he was like a father figure to Gon and such, but I thought it was passable. Speaking of CA, it's my top shonen arc from everything I've read and seen, I thought it was incredibly well-written. How did you find it?
Yeah, the thing about long shows for me (or at least LOTGH) is that I told myself I'd watch 10 eps a day and have it done in no time, lol. I'm watching maybe two eps every two days or so.
How many episodes you saw on one day ? I see that you've completed "Hunter X Hunter", so I guess there were a lot :) How looks your impressions ?
Yes, the plot and the pace of action in the "Death Note" is, in my opinion, at a very high level. I'm curious what you think about the ending. Did you like it ? In your opinion, fits to the entire series ?
Fine. I strongly recommend you "Noragami" :)
Referring to sports anime. If I can, I would like to recommend you "Kuroko No Basuke". It's a very interesting and entertaining anime about basketball. If you like this sport, you should definitely check it out, and even if you're not a big fan, you can also someday watch it :) Sport anime are definetely worth of interest :)
You began already the school year ? If so, I wish you good luck :)

How fares your progress into the series?
