Word/Verbal accountability. Hmm, I cannot do that in any Internet community. Although, Christian influence has curbed a lot of the things that I used to do. So, that's a good thing.

Nevertheless, I still retain a level of the "do what I want" attitude here. Though, it's to a significantly lesser extent just because my personal "glory" is minimal here compared to A4. Yet, it's still that nagging temptation to be... "that guy". Knowing the results from before, I'll wonder if things will be handled... differently. At least, this time, I can take some levels of control and activity pertaining to my own groups, even though they're rather small. But that's fine.

Anime viewing. Hmm. I tend to see it in cycles. Into it for a while. Bored the next. Then getting back into it again.

Getting to Japan. I'd try a harder route; however, given my age, my situation, etc., I don't really have the time or resources to try for anything more difficult. For now, I find the process of going into JET to be somewhat of a mountain to climb, with a bigger one behind it.

My time here in MAL proved one thing: I desired a sense of "freshness" that A4 was lacking.

On top of that, the "arrogance" that grew there within both of us is likely due to being "big fish in a small pond". This site is too big to develop any sort of ego, although that part still remains. It just happens to be "diluted", 'cause of so many personalities here.

With so many groups, it's really impossible to "know everybody".

===

How are things going? Marathon training on schedule. I'm officially a church treasurer, which apparently doubles up as a member on their board of education. Now, that's gonna be interesting. XD Finally, I'm using MAL as a way to maintain a will to learn Japanese. I used my trip to AX (the same one where I fake died) and learned more about the JET program. While the application process starts in October, I hope to be ready for that by then. All in all, this is quite a bit of work.

Anime. I took a break from it last year. I had a Christian moral code that made me realize that anime taught me to view women as mere toys, instead of people. After shaking that off, I merely watch anime - just for the heck of it.

Commas are inadequate for my purposes and tend to limit them to non-bulleted lists -- well for Internet discussions anyways.

Arrogant JET people. Hmm. I can imagine that: "Look, I'm weaboo! And I know more Japanese than you do." LOL. My bigger fear would be: ending up in Japan and be subjected to some form of racism because I'm a lower class of Asian than Japanese. I'm sure, they're still stuck with the notion of credible English speaker = white person. Nevertheless, it's a challenge worth looking into.

Japanese. Sure. You can also join the Japanese language and culture group here:

For now, I proceed with blogging My Japanese Coach here - taking advantage of the blogging service this site provides. Eventually, I'll eat my way through my own textbook - where I've been on Chapt 1 and 2 for a good... 2-3 years. XD Lazy lazy.

Posting in A4 - and wanting a perman ban? Eh, just do the more sensible thing. Walk away. Use that non-Christian logic of yours. :p

As far as A4 is concerned, all I'm concerned about now in there -- my wall messages. With 52% of my posts destroyed in the span of a week (yes, I checked a week after my ban), I really don't care.

On that note, Christian studies increase with time. If there is one thing that I do like about my church - we do have a very sensible way of looking at Biblical teaching. Looking at all the "messed up" things of this world - and pointing it right back to the Bible. Then reasoning why things are... as they are.

It's amazing how my style of logic (which may not make sense all the time) is actually compatible with this material. Heck, I've brought in some of my math notation when I take notes - just to minimize the amount of writing.

===

Yet, all this is being distracted by Star Trek: TNG and various anime. ToLOVEru... gag.

Unfortunately, I'm not qualified to be a preacher. For one severe reason -- I'm a hypocrite. Eventually, I hope to get away from that.

Existing all over. Y'know, that's the result of be being banned all these times. Just Google KyuuA4. XD

For anime forums, it's better to not be moderator or anything of that sort anyways. I got years of fun out of it. >:D

Offline stuff. Yes. Far more valuable. Another reason why I find myself happier at church lately. It's an offline community to be a part of. Heck, I'm so happy with them such that I'm willing to do some kind of work for them for free. For reward or benefit? No. I simply want to.

Guess what ACEN has me tempted to do:

Finally. For everything that happened in A4 - you're forgiven.

Two things to learn:

(1) Power is overrated. It's able to bring any one of us down - with a single stroke. The irony of my "power" in A4... I spent years trying to avoid it. But alas, I still allowed it to smother me.

(2) God doesn't play around when we sin too much.

As for MAL - I'd say. It is proving to be more difficult to integrate here than in A4. It was easy there - because - I had Lowell and met plenty in person. That created a huge comfort zone.

Nevertheless, I have to place my focus away from A4 - and develop there. Not just in the Internet - but in actual living. Church, for example, I hope to serve some kind of function there.

Oh, on that note. What to know the purpose of power? To be servants. If you really want power, then be prepared to subject yourself as a servant.
z-pak May 21, 2009 9:40 PM
Yeah, I was wondering why you were no longer a mod lol. I still go on A4, though not as frequently and usually just as a lurker. Been there for way to long. What is it, 5 years? Place is getting really dull since all the awesome users left. Not much interesting discussion. Need to just leave already. >.>

Anyway, I just finished my first year of university about 2 weeks ago and it was pretty good. Met a lot of new people and friends, hung out with them and had a great time.
z-pak May 21, 2009 8:23 PM
Yo! Haven't heard from you in a while. xD
KyuuAL May 21, 2009 8:10 PM
I'm surviving here. In fact, developed good rapport among a small group within this site.

I'm currently in the IRC now - just because of Haruhi. Otherwise, I do not return there without reason.
Taichi_EX Dec 24, 2008 9:05 AM
I received my grades for my first semester of university and I received all A's. I'm going to continue to work hard next semester to receive the same grades.

Dude, English was my hardest class. I spent hours in the library writing essays. Next semester I will have a harder English class which I'll also spend a lot of time working on essays for.

I was a pretty big fan of shounen when I first started. These days I tend to like a little of everything. sci-fi and mech, drama and psychological pieces, and plus a little of the slice of life.

Also, I prefer movies more than series on average. I just recently watched "The Girl who Leapt through Time" and "The Place Promised in Our Early Days." You might be interested in seeing those two.
Tenken Sep 8, 2008 6:08 PM
We do seem to be fairly similar. It'd be higher, but I tend to be a little harder on the KyoAni stuff. Although I probably loved their works at lot more than I let on.
Taichi_EX Aug 27, 2008 3:37 PM
Nice.

I'm finally studying graphic design at a Univeristy. So far things are going through well.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
