So I got a simple question for you. Do you have an anime (recent or old) that your just bursting at the seems to share? Do you think the whole world should watch it because it's just that good?
Good. Because those are the animes I want to hear about. Feel free to drop a comment or message and tell me about it. I promise I'll check it out.
There's a lot of good anime out there...and a lot of not so good (matter of opinion I know) but I don't have all the time in the world to watch all of them. So, that's why I'm asking for help. I don't want to pass up a good one.
Also, If you notice on my profile info I have my facebook linked. Feel free to check it and even add me if you want.
Story Behind My Name Cian8900
Well hmm... Mine has got a bit of a back story :P (And is kinda corny)
It all started after elementary school during my 6th grade summer when a buddy of mine named Zach introduced me to this crazy game called Dungeons and Dragons (>.>). So my first character was... Zinron actually, a Human Sorcerer(yes I remember :/). Well Zinron didn't fair so well and he... died. By a troll. Wham right in the head, one swing T-T. So I had to make a new character. I made a Half-Elf Ranger and named him Cian Nightshade (I warned you this was corny).
Anyways fast forward about a year and my buddy Zach invites me over to play this new game Phantasy Star Online for the xbox. I made a robot gun user and being a robot named myself Model8900 (easy now, I thought it was so cool back then).
Finally after about 3-4 more months and I got xbox live and a hot copy of Halo 2, my forbidden love XD. So I needed a name and when Cian was taken I figured why not fuse the two? And thus Cian8900 was born (^.^) which I use to this day.
If you see the name Cian8900 floating around on the net anywhere I can almost guarantee it's me. : ]
^ (one exception though is my Battlefield 2142 name, which is Cian8600 cuz I screwed up and used the name on another account besides my own and its un-deletable *A* .)
A little about me...
I live in Rockwall, Texas. Don't know where that is its ok; its by Dallas. Still don't know? It's the city that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in. Bet you know now, lol. Gotta love Dallas, we killed a president! ^.^ (strong sarcasm)
It's alright in Rockwall, its a nice city. I currently go to Colin County Community College, or CCCC for short. I enjoy playing games but not as much as I used to (I must be growing up).
When it comes to outdoor activities :P you may be surprised to know I have and do go hunting for dove and deer mainly, but I've always wanted to go hog hunting. I heard it's really exciting but dangerous lol. As in carry a handgun or knife in case a hog gets to/over powers you >.>. I guess its no surprise really I love paintball as well. You can see how this happened I'm sure. (Hint: Gun's, gun's, gun's)
So yea I'd call anime a hobby of mine just like the others, but right now if I was honest I'd have to say it's a pretty big hobby of mine. I try to be pretty open when it comes to anime genres, but I will admit I tend to shy away from 'slice of life' not so much because i don't like the genre but more because I like other genres more :P
With that said you could probably guess from looking at my anime list I'm a bit of a sucker for mecha animes, but surprisingly enough I didn't get introduced to anime through gundam. In fact it was Dragonball (the original when Goku is still a kid). Man that show was great >.< lol. Anyways, this doesn't mean I watch exclusively mecha's. In fact I hate watching two animes of the same genre or worse the same plot elements/story back-to-back.
Lately I've been looking for mainly serious/mature animes. What I mean by that is shows dealing with either thought provoking issues or ones with tragic stories (i.e. If there's a war; characters/people die because that's what a real war is like). Of course all this serious tone can drag down on a person, so every now and then you got fall back on some of that old DBZ goodness; or rather today's DBZ with shonens like Bleach. Am I saying I'm only interested in animes like these? No it's just what I'm watching at the moment. Where I'll go next I have no idea.
I'm hoping this site and it's members will help me find and enjoy a lot of the different genres that are out there.
Thanks for reading this (I guess it wasn't so little huh?... :P)
Read the first line of your profile information - I'm sorry to say I never remember such things when the situation arises, but I would love it if you could share some with me and maybe talk about it?
Hiya! :D I haven't been around the forums much, so I guess that's why I have no friends. ;_;
Yep, I'm the Newsletter Editor. :) Thank you for the compliment. I spent 9 hours on that baby! xD (And then my computer wouldn't open up the file and I thought I'd lost it all... eek.)
If you ever want to contribute something, an article or a funny drawing or whatever, just drop me a line! I'm trying to make this newsletter more diverse than the one before it, which means I need more contributors besides myself and Kirk. xD
Yeah. Hey sorry for the late reply nd all. I am pretty busy but I currently watching this anime called Vandread now. I finished Witch Hunter Robin, it was pretty good. Well n e ways, Vandread I guess is your typical anime and all with mechas in space and stuff. I do enjoy it though just because it has mechas, fighting in space, it's tends to be funny from time to time and it's got some character growth and development :)
The premise is: There are two planets, Mejale and Tarak, where men and women have separated and colonized forming two separate but unique civilizations. But this story is about how two separate groups from each planet meet and their trials, experiences, and lifes together as they confront a common enemy.
Idk, it's watchable but there's better. I give it a 7 out of 10
Sup! Sorry but I'm not gonna be able to go to UNT this semester and am unsure about next Spring... I'm going to Brookhaven though. I'll be moving with my dad to Addison :/
i've posted that after you posted in the piracy forum that it was impossible.
windows might have a similar leak atm but nobody is aware of it yet why would we else have a critical update every month?
So theoretical it is possible that any file could have a virus.
and that's not even unlikely for some files ;).
at work i managed to put code lines in an excel sheet once to change someone's background.
you can actually put a lot of code lines in a simpel *.jpg file, but that file can't execute them, but it can still store them so that an other file can unpack it and execute it ;)

It was just an exaggeration, because I honestly didn't think my comment would incite this sort of...rage in people. It happened two or three times, but it was enough for me to stop using them.
To me, it's just a matter of preference. I don't care about HD quality or anything, so not downloading is fine with me.
lol, sry you took it that way. I didn't bold anything, I didn't go RAWR ALL CAPS, and I didn't drag my statement on. I only used 2 curse words and tried to prep you for them by saying, "Excuse me for saying this but..."
The only why I chose to say what I said "that" way was because it was that outlandish/surprising of a comment.
It is a fact that you can never get a virus from any media file type; and since you can view the files (and their types) before you download its impossible to download anything but what you want. Worst case scenario someone pranks you and gives you a misnamed video or mp3.
Honestly whether you torrent or stream is your choice. They both have their pro/cons. But, I hate it when people try to play the "virus" card when arguing against torrents, and I wasn't about to let that statement by unchallenged. I don't want people who are new to torrenting to be mislead, besides from the fact it's untrue for these file types.
actually there can be a virus in a .WMV file, but windows already closed/fixed that flaw. so useless you've got a way out of date windows xp version from 3/4 years ago your quite safe.

Sorry for the rude and random comment.

its because you can put scripted events in that media type file.
When viruses trough downloaded content is mentioned on tv usualy points to viruses in cracked .exe files in games.
