lmao

https://logh-icebergs.tumblr.com/post/164035750872/episode-10-jessicas-battle

I found this episode breakdown from some Loghy. Seems like he does heavy breakdowns of the chars being gay or asexual or something. Looks funny.

lmao, post #6

Just read 1 chapter of Ubel Blatt, and while I'm not sure I'd say the manga is all that good, the way it starts and the storytelling and pacing makes so much more sense. I'm not sure what the studio was thinking when they adapted it this way. What I was saying about the myth and the unraveling of it is exactly what the manga is doing. So many things happen without any proper development in the anime adaptation, and while it can work to skip further ahead to a more action-packed arc or something like that, they did it in the worst possible way. Even those people hunting Koinzell in the airship are introduced at the end of chapter 1, with their introduction in the anime being bizarre. Truly an atrocious adaptation.

There have been a lot of different perspectives on why. Rowbotham appeared to be in it for the money. Dowie and Voliva... I'm not sure if it was the bible fundamentalism or if they thought it would make their theocratic Zion City more distinct as a competing alternative to the average U.S. city. Others are trolls. Some probably sincerely believe it or are intensely skeptical. But I think you were asking why the CIA would be involved? My guess would be to flood the conspiracy crowd with a bunch of pointless rabbit holes to dive down and distract them from more sound conspiracies that are real.

One interesting thing I've noticed is how some of those deboonker sites like Snopes will rapidly deboonk garbage claims mixed with some truth, and some people speculate that the deboonker sites themselves are making the things they deboonk. Sure, boomers on Facebook will recycle dog shit, but the person who originally put it together is a bit more suspect, since they took the time to make it but are very obviously wrong with even simple research. So a formula would be to put something obviously or easy to verify as incorrect (perhaps mixing grains of truth for it to be more convincing), then boost it because you have tentacles in social media so people will see it, while shadowbanning stuff that isn't good for the agenda. Intelligence agents are hired pretty often with these social media companies too. There's also the DARPA's Lifelog being rebranded as Facebook conspiracy, which I definitely think is correct. Elon Musk is the most obvious in Silicon Valley when it comes to the government having a hand. The guy's whole business model is based on investing in companies and then having the government subsidize everything he does. Who also conveniently owns Twitter now.

Maybe the real commentary was on female leadership all along :P

XD

Cityboy was really annoying, I remember, but the way he went out was funny. I thought he would be more of the main and waifubait stuff too, actually. That's how it feels, but that's quickly subverted with the various subplots. I added a reference. She comes across as extremely incompetent when she's wandering around with the monk, too. By the very end, most of the vampires are dead, and with him driving her around, he feels like her dad (I either imagined this, it showed it, or I read about what happened in the books). They should make a comedy spinoff where she goes to elementary school. XD

The infotainment bits with SoL will appeal to certain kinds of overthinkers.

You're talking about Okinawa? Hehe. Just looks like a romcom, so I'm curious what's with that. :P

I know you don't like LotGH in the first place, but eps 3 and 4 are pretty sucky. :\

I don't recall Kircheis having anything going on. It's just hardcore yaoishipping, with the author having a scene with him being enamored by Reinhardpeepi's sister, just to pretend this isn't yaoi.
Gsarthotegga Jan 22, 10:46 AM
Can you help me identify what yaoi this image is from?

Satoriin Jan 20, 1:32 PM
Now to find Okonogi xD

Went to the Ryukishi7 xitter and found the op of Gensou Rougoku no Naku Koro ni Kaleidoscope 2 xD

And you know who will voice the egg in this xD.

Also found out he has his own vtuber xD

Maybe she already does who knows. XD Esp since he's been writting this for more than 20 years now xDD

Yee exactly but still it's 150+ hours :D. And that's a lot veeeery lot.

Speaking of VN. Was recently a bit nostalgic returning to the oldest animes I watched etc. Sooooo I played this VN. Angel Beats was the first "conscious" anime I finished 11 years ago and while I still think it had an interesting concept, characters and early eps were fun it was clearly rushed, had many plotholes and the ending was shit. I mean they stayed for decades up to 100 years (in case of Shiina) in that world and then suddenly some new retard appears and tells them to dissapear and they do. Makes sense. :D So I wanted to check if VN has some better endings and yes it does :D
But it's supposed to be the first one in the series soooo it's also unfinished xD Still there's a large variety, you make a lot of choices which actually do affect the story
Gsarthotegga Jan 20, 5:58 AM
lol, I bet you saw Shiki years ago, but this litnerd para is pretty funny:

...

The biggest problem with Shiki is that it tries SO hard to emotionally make viewers sympathize with the vampires, but gives no logical reason for doing so. The vampire faction's plan is bullshit and is horribly thought out. I know I'm not the first reviewer to say this, but it's SO true. There are a few higher vampires called "Jinrou" who are able to eat normal food and survive in sunlight. Over 95% of vampires including their leader Sunako, must eat around 1 human victim a week in order to not starve to death. They are shown drinking glasses of blood, so apparently they COULD survive on medical blood, but Sunako has no consideration for human lives. Sunako's village won't be able to just live in peace, free of human discrimination. If you establish a village of 300 vampires, they will require roughly 15,600 new human victims to not starve to death in just the first year. In Shiki, roughly 10 percent of all vampire victims come back as vampires. That means the first year will produce 1,560 new vampires. In order to survive just the 2nd year, the vampire town would require 96,720 new human victims. The problem snowballs from there and keep in mind the vampires are immortal with infinite life expectancy, so they require infinite resources. Sunako's "plan" is completely unsustainable and would wipe out all of Humanity and thus all vampires as well within just 50 years. One vampire is moral and desides to starve to death rather than eat humans. However, the other vampires make the decision that their own lives are worth an infinite number of human lives to sustain. Since they still have free will and voluntarily make such a selfish decision, it is unarguable that every vampire displayed in this series deserves to be staked.

...

My assumption was that they were going to strengthen their ranks by taking over the whole village, then they would scatter around Japan and switch to drinking blood rather than biting humans and draining them completely, only going back to the old method when they feel they want to increase the amount of vampires that are part of their clan. But it's still pretty funny, and makes the anime look a lot more ridiculous, I think. Because the anime is really not that in-depth when it comes to what the vampires think. They're led by a pseud 900-year-old loli, after all. XD

The CIA is one of the most despised intelligence agencies, so it's no wonder. :P

While I'm joking about the CIA flat earth thing, I do find it rather weird that flat earth dominates the conspiracy circuit to the extent that it does. Some conspiracy theorists who despise the flat earthers claim the CIA is intentionally oversaturating the market with flat earth bullshit. I have an alternative idea as to why it's so common, but I similarly find it tiresome. The funniest part is that I think that one flat earth society with a philosopher as one of the founding members was actually more like a troll debate club. Like they just wanted to see if they could win arguments for stupid shit, much like internet forum arguers.

Right, I also tend not to like revenge plots. Whether they chose to do the fake narrative first or more like the manga or whatever, I think it's hard to deny that it's off to a rocky start. It's not like I expect the early disposable villains to have much depth or anything, but they make them such ridiculous evil bastards and the writing really is trashy. I mean you can do roughly the same thing without being so cheesy. The head priest trying to kill off the MC is so painfully hammy. Also, I'm reminded of something I think Ion said to me about horror. It's not really gorey, but there are these lame raspberry kool-aid geysers everywhere. The MC passes a bunch of people, like it's a samurai film, then we get the geysers. I don't find the action convincing, and the action footage in the OP makes me think this is going to be consistently poor for action. One thing about Berserk is I find it has a persuasive visceral quality to the action that makes the MC and his "hunk of steel" blade believable, even if the weapon is, in reality, stupid and impractical. Making "dumb" things believable is what good speculative and genre fiction is really about. The author of Berserk has varying quality with his villains, but he tends to try to either inject depth or make them cool or a greedy bandit type (more like an animal). Ubel Blatt is just generic evil bastard writing to the core so far.

The old monk killing the head monk could easily be done with a simple push too i think or just pulling back :P but the scene where the pitchfork people come for the corrupt priest is generic but hilariously trashy, it felt generic and edgy in a funny way considering how one dimensional everything in ubel is, like I couldn't reach this high with the monster in ep 1 :P. Everything is just so low effort 1D trashy and then the pitchforks come out accentuated with everything else generic edgy going on XD.

Right, and the silliest part about this is the scene where he's trying to convince the warrior to help him and then the pitchfork people preying on him could have been pulled off in almost the exact same manner if the head priest had simply pushed his superior over the edge or into the path of the falling debris. The priest was a pathetic weakling and coward, and there's no way he'd escape the pitchfork crowd's wrath. Would be way less dumb but still suffer from the same writing problems.

Maybe that Okinawan thing is an okay watch. I skimmed to see what the language barrier was like, and it sort of feels like a parody of anime moerot and a lot better than the way they used the Russian in Alya.
Gsarthotegga Jan 17, 1:51 PM
Guess I'll put a spoiler tag on this for Ubel Blatt.

Gsarthotegga Jan 17, 9:50 AM
Church: Geocentricism good. Rebels: Heliocentricism good. Church: Die by fire. Rebels: I will burn for Heliocentricism. Chad flat earther: You are both controlled opposition globecuck CIA assets. Church and Rebels: ;_;

No, seriously, if they had a new villain pop up who was a flat earth theocrat. Would be very ahistorical but funny as fuck.

But, yeah, just a redo of a thumbnail (this reminded me of Redo of Healer, so this garbage is basically Redo of Heliocentricism) of the geo-helio debate with a brutal inquisition and some rebels and the goofy torch pass shit isn't an especially good plot. I feel like the only way this sort of passing the torch thing might work is with a sci-fi space travel type story. Because early space colonization is going to be harsh, and then it would actually feel like pure fiction instead of infotainment. I think the reason I came up with this idea was I started thinking about the kind of video game I'd want to play, then started thinking of it in story terms. There are unique challenges associated with colonizing the various moons and planets, but any one story will typically focus on, say, Mars. But this way you could maybe have a storyline focusing on various areas for colonization, each with their own circumstances, potentially with the impending doom or decline of earth as a backdrop.
Gsarthotegga Jan 17, 8:36 AM
1 is harsh, but I'm kind of surprised how into it people are. It's one of those "I watch this for the plot" series, so any flaws at all are apparently irrelevant. I'm just sort of surprised that the cheese isn't more of a problem.

Maybe I should watch Kodomo no Jikan in memory of Flowering. RIP ;_;
Gsarthotegga Jan 14, 4:51 AM
It sounds so plain too. I think I kind of miss the hyperactive brainrot of older anime, like Excel Saga sometimes. At least something happens.

On a similar note to Zenshuu, a friend wrote a comment on his Orb entry that was clearly directed at me, saying he was hoping that my 1/10 was trolling. Not a chance. I'm dead serious. Orb is not necessarily "objectively" as bad as some things that I've rated, say, a 2-3, but the difference is that I hate it, and I think I did an adequate job of outlining why I feel it is offensive as a work of art and commercial fiction. Plus, the earth is flat. BTFOed globecuck. :)
Gsarthotegga Jan 13, 1:00 PM
Yeah, all it does is mildly subvert the genre, in ways that would probably not appeal to a hardcore otome fan or someone who has no interest in that kind of thing. I think it appeals to Gayman's sensitive side and his cult of niche and bargain binism, so he is the no. 1 fan.

I'm not sure why I find Zenshuu so bad. I'll have to go bullet point, though. :S

-FMCs are typically worse for me, but there are ways it can be presented where it's not a problem, yet this is a very unlikable character
-The motif of her having her hair covering her face and then showing her face later on, having something to do with confidence or whatever, is annoying
-Too shojogaze with her appearing in her favorite bleak anime film and saving the day through the power of imagination, and the main of that world likely being her romantic interest
-bad humor, character interactions, etc.
-repeated animation for her transformation, like a mahou shojo
-ugly character designs to go with awful characters
-generic fantasy world that feels inauthentic, cobbled together; Baobab looks like Yoda, and Unio is just Unico.
-Crappa
-monster of the week for first two episodes with no real plot developments
-It kind of feels like an autistic child's power fantasy

There's really nothing good to say about it, and I have long since departed from the perspective of "it's a series from a professional studio that is functional, so it deserves at least 2-4/10" kind of bullshit many people on here express. On some level, it offends me. Not morally, of course, as seems to so often be the case for a person using that word. But as a work of art or commercial fiction. There are definitely worse shows that I would go easier on, but I hate this show.
Satoriin Jan 13, 12:37 PM
See I'm sure there is something in Bakemono-tachi too there.
A curse? Afterward, eight girls disappears all of a sudden. What's the truth behind the disappearance?
dissapearing? -> Onikakushi (Demoned away) -> Curse -> Hinamizawa Curse -> Takano xD

XD Le me tell u a spoiler about Ciconia cuz I don't plan to read it so I know spoilers: "not only him" XD

Hah Rika one goes even more meta XD

It's just Umineko VN sooo long don't have time to play it... and books are sooo pricey and reading manga online eh... I don't feel like with this one
Satoriin Jan 13, 12:07 PM
Same thing.

Kinda not but eh. Wouldn't be surprised if some Okonogi or Takano would appear in that LN XD. Well Higanbana not higu but Umi this time
"Princess" Midori Kusunoki, a wealthy and popular girl, pursues the lead role of "witch" in the school play "Rokkenjima".

Let's try this meta XD First generation xDDD
And I need to finally read Umineko xD Seems like not this time buuut it's Ryukishi soooo

Yee and in perfect condition.
Gsarthotegga Jan 12, 5:13 PM
Has a nice Japanese tropical folk touch. Best OP I've heard for the season, if that's what it is. One of the problems is that while I've never played an otome game, I've seen references and parodies enough to get the gist, and they're just taking the grandpa gimmick and wrecking all of it in predictable ways. There's hardly any personality, and even for someone with no otome experience, it doesn't feel fresh at all. It also lacks the fetishy aspect these kind of shows often have because it's so wholesome. There's no tension in any sense, whatsoever, for the loins or brain. :|

I definitely think Okitsura would have more mileage than bureauotome. And if ep 1 is a reflection of Ubel going forward, the only entertainment for me is that they named the loli elf Peepi. I was wondering how the sci-fi would be handled, though. It was all in the backdrop, which seemed really weird. Almost like they got invaded by aliens, but the aliens were like, "Just keep doing your own thing. We're on vacation." The way they structure the fights early on is very meh too. Just the femboy zipping around and blood spurts. Even the giant came across as more like a comedy skit.

Zenshuu is really, really fucking bad, btw. It's a special kind of painfully unlikable bad. It felt like Crappa was trying to make a new more meaningful and creative kind of isekai by looking at the creative process and managed to make something far more insufferable.
Satoriin Jan 12, 2:24 PM
Yeee I remember I checked it soon after you added it and it was something it like that. XD HAHA 2018 this year It'll be my 10'th anniversary on here. XD Wanted to check now if he responsed but the acc was dead. XD Tourist eh prefer calling them normies or normalfags.

Well 4 episodes is a lot XD Lolis left him because they have each other :D. Hooo is it part of the franchise? it has koro ni so it might be.

Well mei is a gachashit so it's a cashgrab written on it XD.Hmmm his upcoming vn seems intriguing.
Not just that every single statement here can be wrong XD

With Himegoto I might add owns the manga xD
