Hoping to start kendo very soon...( been wanting to for like 3 years lol)
Most of the anime I watch I am watching because It interests me or because I have heard it is very good, which is why most of my scores are very high.
If anyone gets this far, congratulations. You pretty much know me now.

I saw Sin City as well and I know I'm sounding like a broken record at this point, but I had problems with it too. It was really unrealistic, which I wasn't expecting and killed it for me. That and each part is basically a love story, which I felt should have been in the description of the movie, but of course it wasn't so more people could be lured into watching it. Hopefully I'll like the 2nd one more next weekend.
In other news, it's really heartbreaking with Robin Williams passing. He was always such a nice and upbeat guy, just wanting to bring laughter and happiness to everyone. He didn't deserve any of what was happening to him. Depression and addiction are just too overbearing sometimes, I hope he's finally at peace, which I'm sure he is. I can't believe he lost about $40 million from his last 2 marriages. Fuck these stupid judges and laws that gave these women so much of his money that they didn't deserve!!! I just can't understand that, so because they're married, she's now entitled to about $15 million? Just ridiculous, that shit has to change.
Anyways, I'll be watching a few Robin Williams movies in the days to come. Already seen Insomnia, Death to Smoochy, World's Greatest Dad and Awakenings fairly recently so I want to rewatch One Hour Photo, Good Will Hunting and Aladdin- I haven't seen them in years, Aladdin not since the 90s! And then I want to watch Dead Poets Society, Good Morning, Vietnam, The World According to Garp and the Fisher King-haven't seen any of these. His dramatic acting roles were great, overshadowed by his comedic ability sometimes. Anyways, til next time.
Ha yea that's pretty much the general consensus on the new TMNT movie, I won't be watching it.
Up and Wall-E were good but just not for me since they're kids movies. I watched them to see if I could still get into Disney movies being 25 now and on the suggestion of someone else, I'll watch How to Train Your Dragon before giving up for good and just sticking with the Disney movies of my childhood like Mulan, A Bug's Life etc, the old ones were deeper too.
Nice, I heard people liked him in Parks so much that his character was originally supposed to be temporary but he became a permanent cast member.
Slither was pretty funny, I liked it. When you mentioned Super I thought I'll add it to my watch-list but then decided I'd just watch it right then and there. I would definitely watch Slither first/not watch Super at all. It wasn't very good, I found it pretty bad actually. The story was all over the place and the acting and script were just terrible. Kevin Bacon is so much better then his role in it (watch the Woodsman for proof) and Ellen Page was screaming like a 5 year old, literally. Rainn Wilson just sucks too, not a good actor at all. Was barely an enjoyable film.
Man, I haven't seen an anime since D.Gray-Man in February!! Pretty bad I know, I just got caught up in so many shows. I'll get back to anime by next month, start off with Ergo Proxy or maybe Cowboy Bebop.
Random but the Expendables 3 got leaked a week ago in full hd quality and has been downloaded more then 2 million times. Lionsgate is super pissed. I mention it because it's just so fucking funny to me and I'm glad they're going to lose millions on their shitty action 3-quel, studios really need to get back to making quality films. That and Ubisoft is releasing 2 Assassin's Creed games this year. That makes 8 games in 7 years, just fucking ridiculous, I don't see how people keep supporting that shit.
I also went through our com-to-coms to see if I had missed any movies you had seen that I hadn't. So I added Eraserhead, The Last Picture Show, the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, the Following and Dazed and Confused to my watch-list. To be honest, I'm slowly starting to run out of movies to see ha, I've seen way too many these past 2 years, which is why I've been watching more tv shows lately and will soon be getting back to anime.
Can't wait to see Let's Be Cops next Tuesday and then Sin City 2 will be the following weekend. But after that, there's like nothing coming out til the Equalizer a month later wow. And I don't see anything coming out in October except maybe that Jake Gyllenhaal movie Nightcrawler which I might see, looks pretty weird too haha. November is definitely where it's at with Interstellar and the Hunger Games.
Yea, I've been hearing alot about Guardians of the Galaxy, might have to check it out soon.
I've seen both Fight Club and L.A. Confidential. Great movies, loved em both. I don't come across too many people who have seen L.A. Confidential, haven't seen it in a few years, need to re-watch it. Russell Crowe (my favorite actor), Guy Pearce and everyone was just great.
I've seen American History X, another great movie, really powerful too. Inglorious Bastards and Prometheus I've also seen. Both great. I need to watch Prometheus again now that I've seen the Alien movies because apparently alot of people had problems with Prometheus that I might not have noticed the first time.
I'm going to watch Sin City by August 22nd when the sequel comes out, still need to see Looper and Clockwork Orange, which is a classic I should have seen by now.
I've been watching shows the past month. Watched this show Terriers, great and underrated, Sleepy Hollow which wasn't so great, finished the Justice League, which was badass and a great animated series, and just finished Battlestar Galactica today, which is my #1 favorite live-action show of all time. Was just so good, deep, powerful, blew my mind so many ways, reminds me of how I feel about the original Fullmetal Alchemist. So yea before I leave this life, I have to re-watch them both ha.
I saw the new trailer, looks great, Christopher Nolan for the win again! Not many big movies coming out the rest of this year. Hunger Games, Interstellar, the Hobbit and that's about it. The next movie in theatres for me is Let's Be Cops on August 13th, hope it's good!
Not seeing anything now til Let's Be Cops, which comes out August 13th. Dear God I hope it's funny. I don't think I can stand watching another shitty comedy. But yea nothing I want to see til then. Not going to watch Guardians of the Galaxy or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I'll watch Lucy with Scarlett Johannson if it ends up being good, not sure how that'll play out.

Jeremy is more comedic while Chris is more serious, although I'd say Chris' reviews are a bit better. And Chris has a review for Boyhood. Oh and I hope the Purge Anarchy is decent. I rewatched the first one and I liked it better the 2nd time around although I admit it wasn't that great and man was it full of plot holes and stupid characters. I'll watch the 2nd one but after that I'm done. Not gonna watch a third one if it comes out, don't want this to turn into another Saw or Paranormal Activity series. Sidenote: I've only seen Saw 5 and half of Saw 1 and never seen a Paranormal movie haha. Anyway, you'll hear from me Friday about the Purge: Anarchy
Hey, if you enjoyed it all good. Yea I just looked it up that Wally Pfister was saying that Nolan enjoyed some of Bay's stuff. That's cool. I'm guessing you're going to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bay is the producer on it. I might see it if it at least get's decent reviews.
Nice, I plan on watching Boyhood too! It caught my eye a few months ago because I saw Ethan Hawke was in it and some of his movies are my favorites. I might watch it online, I'll send you a link if I find one. And yea I heard Life Itself was good, Roger Ebert is definitely a legend. I've never been to Philly, had a friend who went to Drexel University, which is in Philly so heard alot about it. Make sure to enjoy a Philly cheesesteak while you're there ha.
I have seen the trailer for Equalizer, does look like it could be good, and it has Denzel in it so that is definitely a plus. It'll be interesting when Guardians of the Galaxy comes out and people's opinions.
Haha, yea I didn't see the Sin City 2 trailer til recently either. It does look really good. I still have to see the first one, which I plan on doing before the sequel comes out. Looking forward to that and the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1!

And I felt the same about Neighbors, I mean dick jokes just aren't funny and haven't been since like 2008. And Seth Rogen is not funny anymore, and you could tell the entire movie was improvised, it works sometimes but Jesus Christ, don't be lazy and write a fucking script at least. If I had to choose, I'd say Neighbors was slightly better. Since you mentioned it, yea Wolf of Wall Street as we discussed is of course hilarious and fucking awesome, the humor is actually well-written and not mostly improvised like these 2 and it's directed by a really good director. That and it's not lame dick jokes but well-written, mature humor. My bad man, I know this is a buzz kill for someone who enjoyed it, but I just had to get it out, it's getting me pretty worked up, better cool down lol.
Yea, Do the Right Thing was a good movie, it's kind of considered a classic. The acting was good and the whole race thing, if you want to see another movie like it, watch Jungle Fever, not sure what you'd think of it but it's good. I could tell Mimic would just be alright, same as the movie Species I mentioned, pretty much mediocre 90s sci-fi movies with bad effects revolving around killer monsters. Have you seen or heard of a sci-fi movie called Gattaca? It's my favorite sci-fi movie and you should def check it out in the future. Oh wow, man. I hate to say it again, but I think you'll look back at it and not like Pain and Gain as much, it's pretty much not liked. I thought it wasn't too good, not terrible, but another mediocre Michael Bay movie, speaking of which I'm not even going to see Transformers 4, fuck that. Everyone is just saying how terrible it is, not that you have to watch it to know that haha. Speaking of, it looks like he's also going to ruin the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, saw the new trailer and didn't look too good, I'll definitely wait for the review to decide if I'll see it, although I was never a big TMNT fan even though I watched the show as a kid, at the very least if I do watch it, I might get drunk beforehand to make it more bearable haha.
I'm actually going to watch Apocalypse Now pretty soon, what'd you think of it?
Yea Static Shock is awesome, major nostalgia for me as well. The opening instantly brought back memories. Hahah yea the fire guy, so classic and the Justice League episodes were good. I'm actually on the last season of the Justice League, great show, one of my favorite animated series.
Awesome, Spiderman 2 is one of your favorites as well! We should def discuss it. Such a great movie, the plot, writing, scene transition, the turmoil Peter faced as not wanting to be Spider-Man, so much better then the Amazing Spider-Man 2. It doesn't get the appreciation it deserves. My top 5 (in order) 1. The Dark Knight. 2. Spider-Man 2. 3. X-Men: Days of Future Past. 4. X-Men 2. 5. X-Men: First Class. It's a shame how so many super-hero movies have been messed up by Hollywood like Spider-Man 3 and X-Men 3 over stupid shit like whose in control, money etc although I still liked them as well despite their flaws. I need to re-watch Watchmen and haven't seen Mask of the Phantasm but it's on my watch-list.
Enemy with Jake Gyllenhall nice, I have that on my watch-list as well, let me know what you think. Battle-Star is worth your time, wait a while and give it a chance, the first 2 episodes form their own kind of movie but they're important for the story but just give it the first season and I think you'd like it, do you have Netflix? You can watch it on there or online.
Yea, I just recently moved to Virginia because I got a promotion, which is pretty awesome, I was so tired of Atlanta, lived there all my life and started hating the city about 2 years ago, so glad to be gone. All I'm doing now is working and gonna start learning programming soon, and once I do, fuck paying $60,000 for grad school! Hell yea! Haha. Far as watching stuff, the Legend of Korra season 3 premiered Friday night so loving that, still watching Battlestar and Salem, re-watched the Purge, which I enjoyed more the 2nd time but man are the flaws in it big and watched the movie Snowpiercer with Chris Evans, which I had high hopes but they fell flat sigh, I don't recommend it. Oh, and excited for the Sailor Moon reboot, which streams online next Saturday July 5th and Guillerdo Del Toro's new show the Strain, which premieres July 13th. Far as movies for July, going to watch Deliver Us from Evil, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes of course and the Purge: Anarchy. And I want to watch the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy since the American one, which was really good will never get a sequel sigh along with this Brazilian crime/action thriller called Elite Squad and its sequel.
Shit, this post is long, my bad, how's everything going with you in all aspects of life? And hope I didn't come off as too negative in this post.
Oh, and the Vesti, what's the forum about?
I like the list of favourite movies you got up there (Inception, Toy Story 3, Forest Gump, Dark Knight, Pulp Fiction, etc.). There are plenty that I plan on watching. How are Grave of Fireflies, THe Wind Rises, and 500 Days of Summer?
You hadn't told me but I figured you would have seen X-Men: Days of Future Past by now. Wow, I actually saw it twice too, such a good movie! Puts the Amazing Spider-Man 2 to shame. I also saw 22 Jump Street last weekend, we should just leave it at that...lol. What do you think about Transformers 4 coming out next weekend? I re-watched the third one last weekend and wow I didn't realize how mediocre it was before, I guess I'll still watch the new one but I just hope it'll be better then the last 2.
That's alot of movies. I've seen the Shining, Pain and Gain and Do the Right Thing, I was actually planning on watching Apocalypse Now sometime this week. I've seen a movie similar to Mimic called Species.
I know about Entourage, my friend's seen it and I've heard it's hilarious, I remember how popular it was during it's original air time on tv and all the cameos that were made on the show. I have it on my to-watch list, I've heard of Anohana, sappy and sentimental? Yea I could see that.
I've been alright, nothing really new other then the stuff I've watched lol. I haven't seen an anime since February cause I was on a superhero animated series binge the past few months. I watched the Justice League, Static Shock (major nostalgia), Spiderman: the New Animated Series, the Spectacular Spider-Man and I just started Justice League Unlimited.
And I started watching more movies then I have been the past few months, at home that is. I re-watched Spiderman 2, one of my favorite superhero movies, so good, doesn't get the appreciation it deserves. And I saw this movie called the Hunt, a 2012 Danish film and it was really good! You should see it, it was intense, it's about a Kindergarten teacher who gets falsely accused of something and I'll leave it at that. And I saw another movie called 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days about a girl trying to get an abortion in 1987 Romania when it's illegal, was pretty good but the Hunt was better. I've been watching foreign films lately, nice change from Hollywood bullshit lol.
Lastly, I've been watching the show Battlestar Galactica and it is soooooooooo good!!! I'm on the 3rd season and it is just absolutely amazing, you have to see it sometime, so intense!!! It's my #1 favorite tv show and I'm not fully done watching it yet but it's just so insanely good, ok I'll calm down now lol but yea.
I really hope Brian Singer doesn't go to prison so he can do Apocalypse because only he can make these X-Men movies the best. I heard he's most likely getting the case dismissed, here's hoping, that and I don't think he did it. And waiting 15 years to say something, ehh seems like it's more for the money. Anyways, yea X-Men was awesome!
Godzilla was pretty good, I enjoyed it. The human/mystery element was done pretty good although I feel it could have done a bit better after Bryan Cranston died, that speech he gave in the holding room was really good and just awesome. I deserve to know! I'm also one of the people who felt there should have been more fighting, don't get me wrong I'm more deep plot and writing then action, but for a Godzilla movie, they could have added a bit more. I'd still give it a 7/10 if I had to rate it. Was so awesome when Godzilla blasted fire down the woman Muto's throat, like hell yea!
Awesome, so you got to watch Grand Budapest after all, it's the only one of Wes Anderson's fims I've seen myself. I haven't seen the Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Hell yea, can't wait for X-Men!!! Some reviews are saying it's the best one yet, even better then X-2, which is considered the best one. We'll just have to wait and see, but definitely gonna be the best movie so far this year. The Brian Singer rape thing is crazy, honestly, the guy's story sounds too realistic to be a lie but people can lie really well and Singer is rich and can get the best lawyers so I could see him beating the charge. We'll also have to wait and see on that one. Let me know when you finish Requiem for a Dream as well, til next time.
