Growing up I didn't really know much about anime and manga aside from the "big 4." Watched DBZ religiously! Friend recomended "yu yu hakusho" watched and loved that one. Naruto was on Cartoon Network and I decided to leave it on as background noise when I was playing my PS2 but got hooked into that one when I saw Naruto go full beast mode after he thought he watched sasuke die. (9 tail fox chakra leaked from his seal) after I got caught up on those episodes I saw a post about bleach and of course checked that one out. Watched those for a few years over and over... To the point I have every episode of DBZ memorized.
It wasn't until 2013 when I was bored and scrolling through Netflix that I found a show that changed my whole thinking on anime. I saw a recommendation for heaven's lost property (Sora no Otoshimono) and decided to check it out. Me, who has only known the shonen genre, watching an anime about Angels and a perverted guy running around trying to sneak a peek at a bunch of titties was unheard of. The harem aspect of it was fantastic and the main character made me laugh so hard it brought tears to my eyes. Never thought about anime in that sense.
After watching that whole series I started to look more into the different styles and genres of anime and have been on a binge since. I sleep once a week anyways so now I have something to do to fill my time. I've been rating and listing the anime I watch before I even discovered this site so I had a bunch of stuff to fill in once I created a user account. Friends recomend stuff for me and now that i have found this site it will most likely escalate my anime obsession even further.
