Altogether, a great follow up to the original series. Not quite as good, but close, and it makes a great third chapter.
The best part, for me, was the characters. It was wonderful to see them all again, and they were all in character and felt like natural continuations. They have changed, but the core of them is still there. It was a nostalgic feeling, but it never felt forced or overdone. Their development in this film felt natural and well done. C.C. in particular I found to be good here. I do feel like some characters, such as Jeremiah, could have had more of a
...
part, but that's only natural for a film rather than a series.
The art and sound was great as well, and in my honest opinion actually surpassed the original. this is probably to be expected of a film, but the world of this anime felt more realized than before, which is really saying something for a series as fleshed out as Code Geass.
The story was good, but slightly confusing in parts. In particular I was not quite sure what the villains actual plan was, and even after thinking about it, it's still not entirely clear. The story makes sense besides that, and is actually quite engaging. It's just it was never really explained what the villain was aiming for.
Beside that though, it was a great movie, and a worthy successor to what is, in my opinion, one of the best anime I've seen.

From mad scientist to sad scientist to cripplingly depressed scientist.
Steins;Gate 0 is a very good sequel to the original anime, explaining a key part of the story that, while not necessary to enjoy it, still enhanced the story a great deal.
As with the original Steins;Gate, the best part of the series is the characters. They all have their individual quirks and personalities, but they still feel like real people. Since the original characters don't need to be established, they really get the chance to shine here. They all have interesting arcs and contribute to the story. Daru in particular is a major character here, much
...
more than in the original anime. The new characters are really interesting too. Maho was a well-developed counterpart to Kurisu, Leskinen was hilarious, and Shiina had a tragic and engaging arc.
The story was very good as well.It relates to the original anime very nicely, all leading up to a convergence that really enhances both series. There was a melancholy tone for a good part of the series, which made sense in context. It could be a little confusing at times, especially near the end, where I actually looked up an explanation because it was so complicated. But it still was engaging and interesting.
Altogether a great series that follows up the original very well.

Steins;Gate is not just one of the best anime series out there, but one of the best Science Fiction series I've seen in general. All of the positive things you've heard about it are true. It's like one of the best Twilight Zone episodes, exploring how regular people would react to an incredible event.
The characters are without a doubt the best part of the show. Every one of them is developed well, and by the end you feel very invested in their story. They all have unique personalities and quirks. They're not defined by those traits, however, and each develop throughout the series. Okabe
...
and Makise are definitely the best. They react to the time travel realistically, with both fascination and fear. They're relationship with the other characters and each other develops naturally, and is honestly one of my favorite parts of the show.
The story itself is also great. The way time travel works is unique, having a lot of different rules and possible unforeseen problems, which is to be expected of any good time traveling setup. There are a lot of twists and turns, but without getting too hard to follow. Like any great science fiction story, it doesn't just focus on the fantastical events, but also on how characters react to them and how it effects society.
The only real downside of the series is that the first 8 or 9 episodes are a bit slow. They are still interesting, and necessary for setting up the characters, but it was a bit boring at first. That is a minor problem, however, as those episodes are still enjoyable. Overall, this is a great anime.
