So, there's enough comments that I'm thinking people might legitimately think I'm dead. Just letting y'all know, not dead, just don't use the site anymore.
Thanks for writing back! No problem on the timing.
It's unfortunate that violin school didn't work out in the end, but if you can keep working at your own pace (as it sounds you are) then that's a good solution! I'm sure that volunteering at the ER lends itself to many stories. If you decide to go back and for engineering, I would be happy to advise you to the best of my ability.
Hey, I used to stream my busy work too! I agree, it does help with concentration quite a bit. There were many weekends in my freshman and sophomore years where I soldered and worked on arcade controllers for 12 hours straight. Now that I'm doing more complex stuff, it's less time spent behind an iron and more time developing documentation and simulating things in CAD or on breadboards.
The mixtape is mastered, but I never released it because I wasn't entirely satisfied with the quality. If/when I make proper artwork for it I may release it anyway. It would be a good excuse for me to sink a day or two into practicing lineart (making a proper drawing and not remixing/sampling/repurposing existing stuff). Right now it's low priority but I may be able to spare some time the following weekend.
Votoms is awesome! I'm always glad to hear others have seen it.
What is your twitch? I'll keep an eye out for your streams and see if I can catch you sometime soon. I would like to see your workshop, even if you aren't working on a violin.
Last semester! Working on a lot of projects at once, including a full featured synthesizer and something involving cybersecurity. Super busy, but having a lot of fun. Haven't locked down a job yet.
Looks like I just got confirmation on my second internship, so things are definitely looking up. Have to wait for some paperwork to pass (on the order of weeks) and then it will be set in stone. First time really living away from home.
Have two massive make-or-break exams tomorrow and Thursday, so I'm going to hit the books until I fall asleep.
Working on all kinds of cool projects in the background, finally working on my own synth designs!
Coincidentally, I also have another mixtape ready to master this weekend. It seems mixtape releases was one of the last things we talked about on here.
How have your efforts in violin making progressed so far?
