Wasn't just good writing, it was foreshadowing that was my point, because while I do think AOT is good writing (though not nearly as good as people like to claim), its foreshadowing isn't special. Of all the fanboys of all manga I've come across, none of them have ever touted any trait so hard as the AOT fanboys have touted this so called "amazing foreshadowing". The reason I made that point was because the majority of the foreshadowing, especially the bits they like to point to, is so unexceptional and I'm tired of these people pretending it's something it's not and acting like they've been apart of the best thing ever written. Especially when they're being such assholes to anyone who has any complaint. And since there's a few that are always doing as you say, I made a point they couldn't refute, and proved that point and their inability because they immediately went to insults and inferiority complex'ing about claiming I think I'm amazing. Maybe it was a bit much, but I don't think I could have done a better job, and maybe they'll finally take the next step towards not being total cunts harassing everyone. Or at least me.
The time-skip is the best thing AOT ever did, and no one can convince me otherwise because it finally made Eren into a character instead of an emotion, granted, had we started with this Eren, the manga would have been shit because this Eren would not have fit or been earned in any way. Not to mention there are a million shitty manga that start with a version of this Eren.
Anyways, no one is ever a fan of Talk-No-Jutsu, especially when it happens as fast as this. For Talk-No-Jutsu to work there has to be some visible progress and effort, it has to be earned and suffered for (for the reader as well as the character), or the contention can't be so rock-solid. To make the person being convinced seem unmovable, and then immediately have the MC reach them on some deep emotional level, especially when the MC is a total stranger, and have it not seem to be total bullshit is a tall order. At least for anyone with a functioning brain who's interacted with human beings or viewed good characters & writing. Seeing this happen was like imaging, to make a bit of a joke, Hannibal being convinced not to eat people.
I'm sticking it out because I want to see the justifications and how things tie together, because right now, I see two other glaring issues besides the Talk-No-Jutsu:
1. Time Travel: The time travel introduced in this manga is inherently paradoxical. Frankly, I think this ship has sailed and won't be fixed, but I'm interesting in seeing people fight about it and attempt to justify it, crush it and spout out theories. It'll likely be a stupid in-universe thing that readers will just have to deal with, not unlike Avengers.
2. Royal Blood: All descendants of Ymir should have Royal blood since Ymir seems to have only had 3 kids with the king, and since only Ymir's descendants can turn into titans, therefore every titan shifter should have the ability to use the Coordinate. This one seems like it's going to be messy.
Either some stupid retcon-esque changes / justifications are going to be made like "Oh, it turns out royalty wasn't what mattered, but Ymir's view of you", a claim I reject because Eren used the coordinate when in contact with Dina and Zeke, not to mention Zeke can do shit without the coordinate, some dumb shit like she had other kids, the stupid "inbreeding" theory or only one daughter inheriting the royal blood, neither which work because after several millennia the gene pool would turn into a literal pool of inbred goop, or have spread to 1/3 of the population. Or it's going to be a glaring plot hole that fans are going to scream at anyone who questions, like they're doing on reddit. Granted, a good explanation could be had, but the time travel issue makes me doubt that.
Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it. It's nice when fans can admit their peers are assholes or what they like isn't perfect, especially considering how hard, and uncommon or even unpopular both of those are to do.
Can't say I disagree (on both ends) ;)
On the hater's side: If you REALLY think that Shield Hero belongs to the worst anime out there i.e. absolute trash, then the only thing that is wrong here, is your perception. You could hate on actual bad anime but trashing on mediocre anime and above average one's just because they're popular is low quality. And they should feel bad. Whatever.
On the fan's side, well...there are always some people that are a bit more "simple" or can't criticise in a negative way. Can't say I'm fond of that either but they are nowhere as bad as those attention seekers. So, let them like what they like.
Agreed, it's nothing to original but Tanjiro has room for well done development.
The last episodes was a bit of a let down tbh, we get all those new Characters, those pillars are annoying and seem to only act like their ability/quirk.
Have to see how they will end the season and if they continue with the adaptation.
It's one of the best directed shounen ever, but it still has the typical problems, forced dialogue a kinda generic main cast etc.But even tho i still like the cast, they don't introduce a hell lot of Characters and then never give them any development. It depends but it will probably end around a high 6 low 7. One of the better ones this Season
