I'm more of a casual watcher of anime, and my tastes are pretty shit. But hey, so is everybody else's taste...
Explaining my personal rating system (WIP)
Basic Ranges
"Enjoyed it" (10-7)
"Decent" (6-5)
"Varying levels of bad"(4-1)
- 10-The best of the best. (ex. TTGL)
- 9-An overall great anime. (ex. FLCL)
- 8-There's a lot to like. (ex. Attack on Titan)
- 7-Generally enjoyed it. a 7/10 is actually a favorable score on my list, unlike some others. this rating means that I was able to find enjoyment in a good part of the show. The problems that keep a show from getting higher than a 7/10 are usually more minor problems, like a few inconsistencies in the story, or having a couple of unenjoyable characters. (ex. Trinity Seven)
- 6-Entertaining at times. Shows with a 6/10 are shows that, while can be pretty fun and interesting at times, suffer from glaring problems that keep me from really liking it. These problems can range from having a construed story to problems with the show's tone, and anything in-between. (ex. Sword Art Online)
- 5-Painfully average / Wasted potential. For a show to recieve a 5/10, it has to either A) Be so bland and uninspired that I don't come away with anything, or B) Waste all of the potential that it might of once had, either in the beginning or from it's previous season. Granted, a 5/10 rating still isn't a "bad" rating. (ex. Seikon no Qwasar II)
