Hello~ My name is Ariel. I’m terrible at introducing myself, so here’s the story of how I got into anime :3

I’m a huge fan of anime, manga, and Japanese culture. I’ve been watching anime since before I can remember. My dad is actually the one who introduced it to me. When I was a baby, my dad would watch Dragon Ball Z while taking care of me. Apparently, watching it would usually make me stop crying, and he even has I picture of me trying to do the kamehameha wave.

When I was finally old enough to understand what I was watching, I still enjoyed anime more than anything else on TV. My favorites at the time were Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Dragon Ball (of course :P). My dad also introduced me to anime like Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Tenchi Muyou!, Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, and Bleach. However, I didn’t actually get into manga or subbed anime until I was about 11 years old, which was when my cousin told me I could access them online.

Watching anime on the internet changed everything. There were so many shows I had never even heard of. That was probably the best summer of my life, experiencing all sorts of different stories through both anime and manga. The diversity in anime/manga is probably my favorite thing about this medium. Shows with similar a premise can be extremely different from one other because of the execution, characters, directing, animation, art, etc. There’s a show for everyone and I find that amazing.
